One month later...

'Dear Jade,

A pleasure as always to hear from you. It's been a month since I talked to those men in the pack and despite your worries, they are surprisingly co-operating. They come here to train everyday except Sundays and sometimes, I join Matthew in training them. Although, in all honesty, I prefer fighting in wolf form than hand to hand combat.

The last full moon, all of my pack members came for the mandatory shift. Something they hadn't done prior. That made me happy. It means they're slowly accepting me.

My job as Alpha is stressful especially the administrative end but somehow, I'm pulling through. I actually got myself a Personal Assistant. Her name is Alvina. Vina for short. She's AMAZING at her job except for one thing. She's Vicky's sister.... Vicky still has no idea what I did.

Father and Jane are fine. Father's been trying to get to know me better and in a way, it's awkward. I have forgiven him but I can't help but resent him somehow. I don't know. It will take more than a few caring conversations to wipe out the years of emotional pain and distress he put me through. I'm trying though. I'm bad at holding grudges.

Carter is doing well but he's so busy lately that I hardly see him.

Jayce hasn't sent me anymore letters and yes, I don't believe in the mate bond anymore. Jade, just find a nice boy that loves you and then let him mark you if you're sure you love him too. What's meant to be will be, mate or not but then again, you might be one of the lucky ones and get an amazing mate. Better than mine ever could be. Just because someone is your mate though, doesn't mean you HAVE to be with them. But don't stress on it, you're just seventeen.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! My twenty-first birthday a week ago went okay. It was the new year so everyone remembered although, I didn't want to celebrate it. There's no point in celebrating your birthday if you're not happy but the rest of the pack had a wonderful New Year's party. Good for them.

Logan actually sent me a card which is weird. He disowned me and he's still mad from what I gather so it's contradictory that he sends me a birthday card. Then again, our relationship has always been out of the ordinary.

You asked about Matthew. Yes Jade, he is my first love and kiss but nothing ever came of it. He's back now and I'm sort of getting used to his foreboding presence. We talk alot but for some reason, we only ever scratch the surface, never talking in depth. Just random conversations and I do prefer it that way.

Take care of your siblings especially Emerald and I'll send you more cash soon. Please accept it. You need it more than I do.

I fold the letter and place it delicately into the envelope. After signing it, I hand it over to Vina.

"Here, please send it." I tell her. She nods and pushes her auburn locks behind her ear. Her hand is placed over her bulging stomach as she rubs it affectionately "How's the baby?"

"She's fine. She's a calm child. Doesn't give me trouble like my first pregnancy." Vina coos, smiling down at her stomach "Just two more months now. I hope you'll agree to be my baby's godmother."
