The following Monday, after I had mostly moved into my new apartment, I had to return to work. I didn't mind though because I enjoyed my job at the record shop. Music helps me get through my crappy life.
******I woke up on my bed, but still in my clothes. I looked at the time. "2 pm?! Crap I'm late!" I rushed to get ready but getting ready is hard when your room is a mess from not leaving it for a week. I took a quick shower and put on my My Chemical Romance band tee as I rushed out. I'm not the type of girl that likes to wear makeup. I'm actually the opposite of you think about it. Band tees instead of crop tops, converse instead of sandals, jeans instead of shorts.
******I walked out of the house and to my car. As I drove down the streets of Columbus to the record shop, I thought about those mocha eyes. I just couldn't seem to get them out of my head.
As I pulled into an employee parking spot and got out of the car, I noticed Haylee standing crossed arms looking at me.
"Sorry" I mumbled. Let me tell you one thing, Haylee is my best friend, like I don't know if I would still be alive without her. But she hates being late, she absolutely HATES it.
"C'mon. It's ok. But only this one time" She said as she opened the door. Business was the usual. A few teens here and there looking for their bands.
********
As we were closing up, a young man walked in. I quickly recognized those mocha eyes and sat up straight, hoping to make a good second impression."May I help you?" I managed to stutter out. He looked at me as if he was wondering if he's seen me before. He shook his head like he was trying to shake off a thought. He cleared his throat. "Do you have any quick recommendations?" I nodded as I walked to the back of the store to pick up a CD. "Yea this is a new shipment and it's by a band called twenty one pilots. It's called Regional At Best." The boy shook his head. "I think I'll come back tomorrow when you guys are just opening" He smiled. The corners of his eyes scrunched up and it was the cutest thing ever. I nodded to show that I was still listening. As he walked out he turned around and called to me "My name is Josh by the way". I called out to him "Hi josh I'm Tori." We both laughed as this was an awkward way to greet someone, walking out of a doorway. He turned around again and leaned on the counter and held is hand out in a joking manner. "Nice to meet you Tori." We struck up a casual conversation about music. Turns out he was in a band. None of us brought up the Starbucks incident and I was fine with that.
As he began to walk out for real, I he dropped something. I began to call after him but he speed walked to his car. The paper that he dropped contained a number. "I think this is his way of giving me his number. Smooth." I thought quietly. I began to wonder if I he remembered what happened at Starbucks
