Two- A Josh Dun fic

44- new year's

"Wanna go to a New Years party?" Josh asked me randomly.

We were currently laying on my bed, just legs crossed over each other's, scrolling youtube.

"Um, sure. Who's going?" I replied.

"Jenna, Tyler, Brendon..." he continued with the names.

I drifted off into a deep thought about what happened at the last party. But this time Tyler and Jenna were going, and I know that Tyler will keep Josh in place.

"So?" Josh must've finished the list of names because he remained staring at me.

"Yes, sure why not." I smiled.

"When is it?" I asked him.

"Oh, tonight." He said way too casually.

"Wait what?" I sighed calling Jenna over to get ready.

"I'll give you two some time, I'll pick you up at 8?" Josh asked as Jenna arrived.

"Yea, sure." Jenna responded as she closed the door.

I laughed. "Let's do something about this," she gestured to my pj's.

"Hey! FYI, these are the most stylish things ever!" I complained.

A few hours later, someone knocked on the door, and when I opened it, it was Tyler and Josh, dressed up in the most casual, dressy way ever. Josh looked hot.

As Jenna appeared beside me, each man took turns gawking at their girlfriends.

As we got into the car, Tyler and Josh began mumbling something to each other and exchanging nervous looks, especially from Josh.

When we arrived, Jenna made Josh promise to stay with me the whole time, and Jenna took it a bit to far, almost making him swear on his life.

"Jen, calm down, if I can't find him, I'll look for you." I reassured her.

She let out a sigh of relief as we began walking into the house. It was a pretty big party and I got nervous easily. Josh noticed and squeezed my hand, telling me he was right here.

At about 11:50, I lost Josh and I began to search for him. Every couple around me was finding their pair for the New Years kiss, and I couldn't find mine.

9 minutes

Where was Josh? I ran upstairs and carefully looked through each bedroom, making sure I didn't stumble upon anyone doing anything. No Josh.

7 minutes

I tried looking for Jenna and Tyler but I still couldn't find them.

5 minutes

I didn't even care about the kiss right now, I just wanted my boyfriend. My phone died so I couldn't call anyone.

4 minutes

I ran outside and ran out on the snow covered lawn to steady my breathing. It was cold, but I didn't care. I heard the snow crunching behind me so I turned around to see someone walking to me. I let out a soft smile, even though they couldn't see me.

"Hey Tori," it was Josh.

Before I could open my mouth to say something, Josh began speaking again.

"Sorry for scaring you but I was nervous. But I think I'm ready now." He let out a deep breath.

2 minutes

"Victoria Elizabeth Hunter, I've had the pleasure of knowing you for the short 7 months that I have, but they have been the best 7 months ever. I've loved you from the moment you almost spilled coffee on me to the day we were both in the hospital to now. I still loved you, when I was with Debby. I was only with her to clear my mind and it was the worst thing ever because I almost lost you. I love the way your hair bounces when you turn your head, the way your eyes sparkle when we go to Kilwin's or when you watch us preform, the way your voice sounds like god hand crafted that voice just for you, the way your songs sound like poetry, the way you strum your guitar, the way you laugh when I act stupid, the way you get defensive when a girl looks at me, they way you care for your friends like they were family, the way you handle your past, because that's not easy. Anyways, I'm rambling, I love you for you, I love you because you've made me who I am now, you've kept me alive and made me happier than I've been in my 23 years of being here, and Tori, I don't know how many times I can say this but I love you, so, Tori Hunter, will you make me the happiest man alive and-"

His voice was cut off by the sounds of everyone inside yelling happy new year. While everyone was yelling, Josh got on one knee and pulled out a box and opened it, revealing a sparkling diamond ring.

"Marry me?"

By now I was sobbing, and it was the best sob I've had before.

"Yes, yes Joshua, I love you so much yes." I pulled him up and kissed him, feeling the billion sparks I felt the first time.

"I love you Joshua William Dun."
