I was still crying when Josh put me in his car and started driving to my apartment.
"I'm so so sorry." Josh said again.
He wasn't pitying me, he was apologizing for getting mad.
"I shouldn't have yelled, or forced you to tell me what happened." He continued.
"I'm sorry too. For not telling you, and for taking your keys." I admitted.
As we walked up the stairs, he stopped at his apartment and asked me to wait outside. While he was inside, I could hear some girl yelling but Josh was keeping calm.
"It's because of the other girl, isn't it?" The girl, I assumed Debby, yelled.
Josh didn't answer.
I could hear Debby stomping towards the door. I quickly hid in a nearby hallway to avoid an angry encounter.
When she left, I walked inside his apartment. I found Josh sitting on the couch deleting any pictures of him and Debby.
I sat on the other side of the room in a chair, and said nothing, just playing with my hair nervously.
Josh looked up and noticed I wasn't talking.
I wasn't talking because I didn't know how to act. I can't act like he's my friend because I love him, and you can't fake feelings. And I can't act like we're lovers because we're not.
"Tori?" Josh finally said, breaking the silence.
"Hmm?" I said looking up at him. I wiped my eyes from the dry tears.
"I still love you"
I looked at him. Was he serious? Last time one of us said that we... broke up.
"You heard me?" I asked referencing to our fight.
"Of course." Was his reply.
"Josh, I love you too. But this feels wrong because we're not, um, dating."
"Oh." Josh said, looking down.
"Will you go out with me again?" Josh asked looking hopeful.
Was he for real? I wasn't mad but he can't break my heart and tape it back together.
"Josh, I can't. You broke me and then broke another girl. I can't. Not yet at least."
"Oh. Ok." Josh said, all his hope diminishing.
"Is that my hoodie?" He asked.
I blushed. "Um, yea. Do you, um, want it back?"
"No no. It just looks really good on you." Josh complimented me. I'm not a mess anymore.
