Aria
It's been a few days since I've been to school. Natalie and Lucas have been blowing up my phone asking about me, but I told them I was on a trip to visit family for a few days. Since Jacob came over, I've been in an oddly good mood. I mean yeah, we made out and everything so that's probably the only reason why. It was so intense and I can't stop thinking about it.
Tomorrow we have our ... "thing". I only call it a thing because I'm not sure if it's a date yet. I've been trying to figure out where he's taking me. He keeps telling me it's a surprise, even though I hate surprises. It's no use, he won't budge and tell me.
For school, I decide to dress up a bit. I slip on a thin blue floral skater dress and some open toe ankle boots. I do my makeup and curl my hair into wavy patterns. I walk into the kitchen and grab a waffle to put in the toaster.
"You look very dressed up today, Aria." My mom compliments, taking a sip from her coffee. I smile and look down. She doesn't know about Jacob, although I'm sure she'll catch on soon enough.
"It's a nice day, I thought I'd wear something nice."
"Are you sure that's the only reason?" She prods, looking down at her iPad. I look at her with a weird expression, before laughing.
"I'm sure."
After eating breakfast, I make my way to school. When I come in, a lot of eyes are on me. None of them are the eyes of Jacob Diaz, though. I meet up with Natalie and Lucas in the cafeteria and they greet me with joy and compliments.
"Where have you been?" Natalie asks, touching my dress in admiration.
"Out of town, but it feels good to be back." I only say that because of Jacob. I don't know why I'm so caught up on him. Obviously, he's hot and an amazing kisser, but it's more than that. I want to know more about him. Inside and out, I want to know every little secret floating around in those green eyes of his.
During lunch, a lot of jocks cat-called. It got annoying, so we decided to go eat outside. We take a seat on one of the round benches and start to talk. Minutes later, I notice a certain tall, brown-haired boy walking away from the school. Jacob. I immediately get up and walk his way, drawn to him.
"Hey," I shout. He turns around and looks at me. That cocky smirk appears on his face as he walks towards me. Even with heels on, he's still taller than me. He looks down at me, biting his bottom lip.
"Hey."
"Where are you going?" I ask, playing with the fabric on my dress.
He scratches the inside of his eye, scrunching his eyebrows. "I have to go ... take care of some things." His eyes scan me from head to toe. "If you look like that tomorrow, we'll do much more than kissing, Aria." He utters, seductively. I feel my cheeks begin to burn as I bite my lip to keep from smiling too hard.
"I think your friends want you." He notes, seriously. I look up to see his face hard and emotionless. I turn around to see Natalie and Lucas staring dead at us, as if we came to school naked.
"Okay, well ... I'll just text you I guess." He nods, then strides off. I walk back to the table and sit down, taking a bite of my french fry. The awkward silence catches up to me, and I look up to see them still staring at me like I'm crazy.
"What was that?" Lucas asks with a terrified face.
"Yeah, since when do you and jail-bird talk?" Natalie chips in.
I snap my head to her angrily. "Don't call him that." She widens her eyes and puts her hands up in defense. "We have chemistry together, I was just asking about the homework." I explain, trying to take the tone down in my voice.
