Jacob hasn't said a word since we've left my house. I didn't have a chance to grab my clothes or anything. I feel bad for what my father said to him. He's misunderstood in the worst ways and it's like he can't even try to change people's minds.

When we get back to Jacob's house, he slams the door behind him and plops down on the couch. It's obvious he's angry, I'm just waiting for him to blow up about it.

I sit next to him in silence, biting the inside of my cheek. I'm not sure what to say. I didn't expect any of that to happen.

"I'm so sorry about what happened Jacob." I mumble, fiddling with my fingers.

"Boys like me..." He repeats quietly, staring at the TV that's turned off. There's a small amount of pain behind his voice. It breaks my heart.

"Don't listen to him. I wouldn't want anyone else, Jacob. You're different and I like it." I lean towards him, and bite my lip. I want to make him feel better, but I don't know how.

I take his face in my hands and turn him towards me. I smile softly and lean my forehead against his.

"I like you a lot and I don't care what anyone thinks about it, okay?"

He smirks quickly, but returns to saddened eyes. He overlaps his hands on mine and our lips brush against each other's softly.

"Sorry he said that,"

"You shouldn't have to apologize for something your dad says." Jacob mumbles. He pecks my forehead before getting up. He makes his way towards the back of the house. He stops and turns around. "You wanna come to bed?"

I giggle and follow after him to his room.

Jacob

I flutter my eyes open and feel Aria's body shift on top of me. I look at my watch and squint at the time. I slowly make my way from under her and get dressed. I kiss her softly on the cheek and walk out.

I drive to the same busted down house and knock on the door. A new man approaches me when I stand in the doorway. He leads me to the back room where I see Donny. The door is shut behind me and I immediately turn to him.

"I thought you wouldn't show." Donny says, counting stacks of money in front of him.

"Something just came up." I nod off. "Where's the bag?"

Donny looks up at me. He inhales his cigarette and blows clouds of smoke. "I'm going to put you on something new today." I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion.

"What kind of new?"

Aria

I wake up to an empty spot next to me. It's cold which means Jacob must've left a while ago. I get up and wrap sheets around my body. I walk around the empty house, hoping to find Jacob but coming up short. Rain begins to pat down on the house as lightning strikes in the distance.

I walk into the kitchen and grab something to eat. I don't want to eat all of his food, so I only grab some small. I go into the living room and start watching TV.

Shortly after, Jacob walks in partly damp. He seems startled when he sees me sitting on the couch.

"Hey you," he greets, shaking rain off of his jacket and shutting the door behind him.

"Hey, where'd you go?" I ask, turning to look at him. He props down next to me, looking exhausted. "Are you okay?"

He's staring at the ground with a concentrated expression on his face. He seems distant.

"Jacob."

He snaps his eyes my way, erasing whatever concentration he had. "Sorry, I was just thinking." He pecks my forehead and gets up from the couch. "You hungry?" He questions, walking into the kitchen.

"No." I mumble. He smells funny. And he seems different. I'm not the type to question every move my boyfriend makes, but he doesn't seem like himself. Maybe I'm overthinking things.

I want to ask more questions, but my phone vibrates on the table in front of me. I pick it up and see my mom calling. I roll my eyes and throw my phone back on the table. I grab the remote and turn the volume up, tuning everything else out.

My phone vibrates again, but this time it's Natalie calling. I don't hesitate to answer.

"Hey,"

"Oh thank God, you're okay! Where are you?" She sounds worried and shocked to hear my voice.

"What?" I laugh, confused. "What are you talking about? I'm fine."

There's a long pause while the line crackles between us.

"You're not missing?" I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion, feeling a loss for words. "Aria have you seen the news? Channel 5?"

I turn the channel to Channel 5 News and see my name on the bottom of the screen in bold black letters.

Aria Winter, 17, missing.
