I wake up to the sound of the television. I flutter my eyes open and see bright light coming through the window. I look at the end of the bed and see Jacob watching TV with his shirt off. I shift and sit up, rubbing my eyes.

"How long was I asleep?" I ask, looking at the window. I feel like I've been sleeping for days, my parents are probably worried about me.

"Not long, like an hour." He smiles and crawls to the beginning of the bed. He slips in between my legs and brings his lips to mine. I smile and grab his face as his hands slide up and down on my thighs. "You looked cute when you were sleeping."

He plants soft kisses all over my face. I giggle and fight him off.

"Where's my phone?" I look around for my pants. He reaches down and grabs them before bringing them to me. I dig my phone out and look at the time. 11:46 a.m. I then check my notifications.

I have 13 missed calls from my father and 7 missed calls from my mother. I'm sure they're calling to see where I am but I won't tell them.

I dial my mom's number and it doesn't take long for her to answer.

"Aria? Oh my God are you okay? Where are you?" She sounds worried.

"I left, I'm fine." I reply. My mother begins to speak but there's shuffling in the background. Then my dads voice roars.

"Come home now, Aria." He demands. I know I should listen to him, but something inside of me is willing me not to.

"No," I hiss. "I've only been gone a few hours, it's not the end of the world."

"I said come home." He snaps again.

"I'll come eventually," I murmur, not wanting to argue with him on this. He's about to speak again but I hang up the phone.

"Is everything okay?" Jacob asks, watching me with wide eyes. I swing my legs over the side of the bed and run a worried hand through my hair.

"You want something to eat?" He questions and rubs my back. I smile and nod to him. I didn't eat my breakfast this morning and I only had snacks, so I'm starving.

We both get dressed again. When I'm done, Jacob smiles and grabs my hand. He walks me to the kitchen and pulls a chair out from the island. I didn't really notice it before but Jacob's house is beautiful. It's tranquil and organized and it's hard to believe it's his.

He opens his fridge and looks back at me with a questioning expression.

"Breakfast or lunch?" He asks, searching my face the way he always does.

"Breakfast," I smile and swing my legs back and forth, almost as if I'm a kid awaiting a prize. He comes to me and plants a soft kiss on my forehead. Before he can slip away, I grab his hand and bring him back. I point to my lips. He smirks, kisses me, and pulls back.

After he cooks breakfast, we walk into the living room to sit, eat, and watch TV.

"What'd your dad say?" Jacob inquires after cutting up part of his pancake and putting it into his mouth.

"He wants me to come home." I take a sip of orange juice, trying to wash down the guilt and nausea I feel for the situation.

Jacob looks at me with an arched eyebrow. "And what do you want?"

His question throws me for a loop. What do I want? I'm not sure if me leaving is trying to start a war with my father. I'm not sure if they even understand why I want to stay. I'm not sure if any of this will end well, but I'm doing it anyway.

I shrug and take another sip of my drink. "Can we talk about something else?"

He looks at me up and down before putting his plate on the coffee table in front of him. He grabs my glass from my hand and sets that down too. He swings my legs over and crawls in between them, gripping my thighs slightly hard. He settles his way on top of me.

"We can talk about how sexy you were this morning." He kisses my cheek. "How I made you moan really loud." Another kiss on my chin. "How you felt so good." Another on my neck. I feel my toes curl as his kisses send volts into my heart.

"That was just how I pictured my first time," I admit, staring up at the ceiling and running my fingers through his hair. He stops instantly and brings his eyes to mine.

"That was your first time?"

I give him a confused look. "Yes?"

"Are you serious?" He sounds shocked. "I thought maybe someone ... you know. I mean look at you, you're telling me no one tried-"

I interrupt. "No one that I wanted." He smiles and gives my lips a light kiss.

"I'm glad I was your first time." He admits, staring admiringly into my eyes. He takes his hand and slides it up until it tips my butt. He kisses me and bites my lip when pulling away. He moans on my lips, vibrating them.

I'm about to let him take me right here but I feel a vibration coming from my back pocket. I pull away and reach for it, but Jacob doesn't stop kissing my neck.

"Hello?" I pick up without looking at the caller ID.

"Aria?" My moms voice whispers through the other side. I roll my eyes and nudge Jacob away. He looks at me with a hard expression, upset that I'm making him stop.

"What?" I ask, but it comes out with more attitude than I intended.

"You don't have to come home right now, okay? I'm sure you're safe, you know how to handle yourself. I just want you to know that I love you and us giving you the news about your father was supposed to be happy."

I sit up and scrunch my eyebrows. "It was only happy for you guys." She sighs, not knowing what to say. "And why are you whispering?"

"I .." She stutters for words. There's some yelling in the background and it sounds like there's commotion.

"Mom? Are you okay?"

"I have to go." She quickly hangs up and the line goes dead. I can't find words to speak or explain what just happened. My mind can't wrap around it. My head starts going to dark places and wondering if she's hurt. If my dad got too upset and took it out on her. He wouldn't do that, right? I've never seen him lay a hand on her, despite all the PTSD the military rewarded him with over the years. But never could he ... no. Calm down, Aria. She's fine. They're fine.

Shit, what if this was their way of getting me to come back? What if my mom only sounded worried to make me worry?

"Aria." Jacob snaps me from my thoughts. I shoot him a hard look. "What happened?"

I shake my head and instantly get up. I look around the room as if my world has started to tilt on its own axis. I arch my eyebrows in confusion, realizing I'm thinking way too hard.

"Aria, you're scaring me." He stands up and comes to me. He rubs my arms in comfort, but his hands seem cold. I look up at him with glassy eyes. He waits for my response, searching my face. I can't find words to speak. The worst things possible are flooding my mind and I don't know what to do from here...
