Chapter 10- Over

"Are you gonna let her talk to me like that?" Claire yells to Jace.
Jace ignores her, and continues to stare at me.
"Jace! You're such a bad boyfriend!" She yells.
"We're over." Jace says.
"W-What?"
"We're over. You can leave now Claire."
Her wide eyes stare down Jace, then me.
She glares at me, and storms out of the office.
"She really is crazy." Jace says to me after she left.
"Yeah." I look down at the coffee mess, and my ruined clothes.
"Why don't you go home early, I'll take care of the mess." He says.
"I'm you're assistant, that's my job."
"Just go home. I need time to think right now."
I hesitate at first, but nod and walk away.

I get home, put all of my clothes in the wash, change into my pajamas, and text Anna to come over.

"She spilled her coffee on you?!" Anna yells after I explain everything that happened.
"It was obviously on purpose too." I say.
"That bitch. That was an expensive outfit too!"
"I know right!"
"And Jace dumped her right in front of you?" Anna asks.
"Yeah. I have to admit, I felt a tad bit bad for her. I mean getting dumped right in front a stranger, that's so embarrassing!" I say.
"Oh well. She deserved it." Anna says.

We grab our ice cream, and sit on the couch.
I grab the remote, and turn the tv on.
When the tv turns on, a familiar face appears on the screen,
Jace's face to be exact.

"Turn it up!" Anna yells.
I turn up the volume, and we both listen carefully.

"Is it true you and Claire Meadows broke up?" An interviewer asks Jace.
"Yes it's true." Jace says.
"And you broke up with her?" Someone else asks.
"Correct."
"Is there another special girl you have your eyes on?" Someone asks.
"Actually yes," he says while running his hand through his hair,

"Her name is Aspen Montgomery."
