I get called into work, and I get there early to finish my work. Jace and I didn't really talk about anything after we kissed.
The picture of us kissing is on the front cover of the magazine, and everyone is talking about it.
I'm sitting at my desk, when the door opens.
"Good morning." I say to Jace as he walks in.
"Good morning."
"Did you see the magazines?" I ask."Yeah, 'us' kissing was the perfect way to get publicity." He says.
"Yeah it wa- wait what?" I ask.
"The kiss. It made great publicity." He says."So, us kissing was apart of the 'act'?" I ask.
"Well, yeah." He says.It feels like someone just stabbed me in the heart.
I feel so stupid!
Why would I have ever thought a famous millionaire, would like me?
I'm not a supermodel like all of the other girls; I'm just a personal assistant."Um, I'm starting to feel sick. Is it okay if I go home?" I ask.
He nods, "Yeah. Hope you feel better."
I grab my purse, and walk out.

"He WHAT?!" All of my friends yell at the same time.
"He said it was just for the publicity." I say while looking down.
"Maybe if you talk to him?" Anna suggests.
"No. I don't want him to know that the kiss meant something to me." I say.
They all nod.
"No one say anything to him. Please?" I ask.
"Okay." They all say.
"Are you still going to go to work?" Anna asks.
"I have to. It's the only way I can pay my bills." I say.Jace's POV:
I regret saying that to Aspen.
Of course that kiss wasn't apart of the act!
That kiss meant something to me."How much longer till the race starts?" Ashley asks me.
I shake my head, and lean against my car.
"I'm not sure."
"So, how are you and Aspen?" She asks.
I sigh, "I don't know."
"What happened?" She asks.
"I said something really stupid, and I should've never said it. She's probably really mad at me right now."
Ashley comes next to me, and hugs me.
"It's okay."
I don't hug her back.
"No, it's not okay."
"She was no good for you anyway." She says.
"What? What are talking about?" I ask.Ashley looks at me, and smashes her lips against mine. In the corner of my eye, I see a flash go off.
I shove Ashley off of me, and look at where the flash came from.
I see some teenager holding up his phone.
"Hey." I say as I start walking up to him,
"Don't post that." I say.The guy runs away.
I run my hands through my hair, and look back at Ashley, but she's gone.
Can this night get any worse? I think to myself.
My phone beeps, and it's a message from Aspen,"I don't think we should 'fake date' anymore. I'm sorry."-Aspen.
