Chapter 26- The Truth

"Oh my god." Anna says while eating and looking at the tv.
"I shouldn't be jealous, right? I mean, we weren't even dating.."
The front door opens, and Ryan and Chase walk in.

"Did you see the thing about Jace and Ashley?" Chase asks.
"Yeah." I say.
"But did you see what she was wearing? Like seriously, yikes." Ryan says as he sits on the couch.

"Maybe you should say something to him?" Anna suggests.
"No way, he likes Ashley now." I say.
They all look at each other.
"Please don't say anything to him." I say to all of them.
They all nod.
"Thank you."
Ryan and Chase go home, and Anna stays the night.

I wake up to Anna's alarm, because she thinks we should get an early start on the day.
I turn it off, and lay back down.
Anna walks out of the bathroom,
"Aspen, wake up. We can't waste our Saturday." She says.
"Where are we going today?" I ask.
"Maybe we could go shopping?" She asks.
I nod, "I'll get ready."

I get ready, and put on my ripped skinny jeans, a black sleeveless blouse, and my black flats.
I put my hair in a messy bun, and don't bother to wear any makeup.

"You ready?" Anna asks.
"Yeah, lets go."

Ryan's POV:
I know Aspen told us to not say anything to Jace, but I have to.
Something's not right about this situation. And if Aspen isn't going to find out, then I will.

I'm on my way to Jace's office, but I pass the cafe and I decide to  stop for a coffee, because why the fuck not?

I don't know where Jace usually hangs out, so I go to his office because he might be there.

I get to the building, and ask where Jace's office is, and make my way there.

I knock on the door, and wait for a reply.
"Come in." Jace says.
He looks up at me,
"Oh, hello Ryan."
"Why did you and Ashley kiss? I mean really, she's not that good looking." I say.

"Ryan, I can exp-" he starts saying, but I cut him off.
"And did you really have to say to Aspen that when you guys kissed it was only for publicity?!
I bet you $1,000 that when you kissed Aspen, it meant everything to you." I say.

"Ryan-"
"Well, I don't actually have $1,000, but you get my point."
"Ryan."
"What?"
"Ashley kissed me, and I pushed her off of me but someone already got a picture of us kissing." He says.

I look at him, "I don't think I believe you."
He sighs, "I thought you would say that. But I have proof that I'm telling the truth."
"Where is it?" I ask.
He sighs, "I can't tell you, it's the reason why Ashley and I always leave to go somewhere."

I sigh, "I already know where you and Ashley go."
He looks up at me, "You do?"
I nod, "I know that you're an illegal racer."
He keeps looking at me.
"And so does Aspen."
