Chapter 40- The Answer

All my friends quickly come up to us, and Ryan starts clapping.
"Finally," He yells while smiling.
"Fucking finally!"
"She looked pretty mad." Anna warns me.
"She'll get over it. Anyways, JASPEN IS BACK!" Ryan yells.
Anna scoffs, "It's Ace."

Ryan and Anna walk away as they continue arguing over the ship name.
"Are we getting back together?" Jace asks me with hope in his eyes.
I look away from him, "I don't know. She threatened to hurt someone if we got back together."

Jace lifts up my face so that I'm looking at him, "Don't worry about her. I'll protect you and your friends." He says while holding my hands.
"Aspen, ever since I met you, I knew I couldn't be without you. Let's not let one crazy girl ruin our relationship." He says.

"Can I have time to think about it?"
"Of course," Jace says while smiling at me, "but I'm still going to dance with you tonight."

"Are you gonna say yes?" Ryan and Anna ask me at the same time.
I smile, "Probably. I needed time to think about it last night, and I did."
Ryan screams, and Anna claps her hands.
Ryan's phone dings, and he checks it.

"I gotta go, my hubby is waiting for me." He says.
"How long have you been waiting to say 'hubby'?" Anna asks.
"Too long. Bye my precious friends that I love so much."
"Bye our annoying friend that we also love so much." Anna and I both say back, and Ryan leaves.

"So, what're you doing today?" I ask Anna.
"Matt and I are going to lunch in about an hour. What about you?" She asks.
"I don't know yet."
"Well, I'm gonna go get ready. Matt will be picking me up soon."
"Can I borrow your car today?" I ask.
"I don't care. Feel free to wash it while you're at it." She says.

I go upstairs to my room and start getting ready.
I put on my denim ripped shorts, a dark blue crop top, and some black flats. I put my hair in a messy bun, and finish putting on mascara.

"Bye!" I yell to Anna as I walk out.

I drive to the tattoo parlor, and decide to clean up my area a bit.
We're closed today, so I unlock the door and walk in.

My phone beeps, and it's a text from an unknown number,

I hate you. -Unknown

I sigh and put my phone back in my purse.
I glance out the window, and see the hotel.
I look at the parking lot, and see Jace's car there.

I walk out, and lock the door behind me. I go home and start working on a project.
I get a poster board out, and start writing.

After my little project, I go to the coffee shop, and get two coffees.
I drive to the hotel, and walk inside.
"Hello, Aspen." The lady at the front desk says to me.
"Hi, Mrs. Dawn. Is Jace busy at the moment?" I ask.
She smiles, "No dear, he's not."
I nod, "Can you not tell him I'm here? It's a surprise." I ask.
She nods her head, and I walk to Jace's office.

I call him before I'm in front of his office door, and he answers quickly.
"Aspen! I'm so happy you called." He says as soon as he answers.
I laugh and he starts talking again.
"Did you think about it? Do you have an answer?"
"I did." I say.
"So, what's the answer?" He asks.
"Open your door." I say as I quickly walk to his office door.

"Aspen, why would I have to open my do- Aspen!" He yells as he opens his door and sees me.
I hang up, and he looks at what I'm holding.
I have a big sign that says 'YES' and I also have his favorite coffee.
I walk in his office, and he shuts the door behind me.
I put the sign and coffee down on table,
"So, anyw-" I start saying, but he interrupts me by kissing me.

His hands go down to my hips, and I kiss him back.
"I've waited two years for this. Two years, Aspen Montgomery!" He says as he smiles at me.
"Don't ever do that to me again." He says as he kisses me again.
"I wouldn't dream of it." I say.
