Chapter 34- Warned

"Are you guys ready yet?" Chase asks from the living room.
"Almost." Anna answers.
I finish applying mascara, and leave my wavy hair down.
"Okay, I'm ready." I say to Anna.
She nods, and we walk out to the living room.

"Finally, it's been like 2 hours." Chase says.
Anna rolls her eyes, "Beauty takes time."
"Where's Ryan?" I ask.
"Waiting in the car, lets go."

Tonight's the night of Jace's race, and I'm excited to watch. There's no doubt that Claire, Ashley and Ryder will be there, but there's no way I'm going to let them ruin my night.

"How's your project going?" Anna asks me.
"I changed my mind, I'm not going to paint a picture." I say.
"Well, what are you doing for the project?"
"A picture collage instead." I say.
"Sounds cool." Chase says.

"I advise that none of you eat the food they serve there; Chase learned that the hard way." Anna says.
Chase looks back at us, "Do not eat the food there."

Ryan drives through the entrance, and we all get out of the car.
"Where's Jace?" Chase asks.
"Probably getting ready." Ryan says.
We all nod, and go get our seats.

"I see Matt." I say to Anna.
She looks at where I'm looking, and walks towards him.
I watch as she hugs him, and they walk back to us.
"Over here!" I hear Ryan yell.
We all look and see Justin walking towards us, and he sits next to Ryan.

I look around at all of the cars, until I see Jace.
He waves at me, and I wave back.

"How can one person be so attractive?" Ryan ask as he looks at Jace.
Justin clears his throat, "Um, I'm right here."
Ryan turns around, "But, you're even more attractive."
Justin faces away from him and Ryan faces me,
"I think I'm in trouble."

"Are you guys ready, to see the race everyone has been waiting for?!" The man yells into the microphone.
Everyone starts cheering, and he speaks again.
"The racers are, Mike Carter!"
One side of the crowd starts cheering, and the other side doesn't cheer.

"And Jace Johnson!"
It's also the same for him, one side cheers and the other doesn't.

The race starts, and the cars are already gone.
Everyone looks intensely, and I feel someone tap my shoulder.

I turn around and see Claire looking at me.
I raise my eyebrows at her, and Ryan also turns around and looks at her.
"I know that you probably hate me, but I need to warn you." She says.
I look at Ryan, then back at her.

"Warn me?" I ask.
She nods her head, "About-"
"Claire!" Ashley interrupts.
Ashley gives us a dirty look, and Claire looks at me before leaving.

"What was that all about?" Ryan asks.
"I have no clue."
We turn around, and finish watching the race.

We all cheer as Jace crosses the line, and wins.

"Do you guys wanna go get food?" Anna asks everyone.
"I can't, I have to finish my work." I say.
We all walk towards the parking lot, and I walk with Jace to his car.
"See you tomorrow!" Anna yells from across the parking lot.
"Bye!" I yell back.

Out of nowhere, Jace smashes his lips on mine.
"Thanks for coming tonight." He says.
He kisses me again, then opens the door for me.

I look in the rear view mirror, and see Ashley watching us.
I look away quickly, and Jace drives away.
