Chapter 41- Sexual Tension

"Meet me at the cafe."- Ryan.

I get out of bed and put on a quick outfit.
I find my skinny jeans, a plain top, and my flats. I quickly put my hair into a ponytail, and brush my teeth.

My phone dings, and I check to see who it's from.

"Movies today?"- Jace.

"Meeting with my friends. I'll text you when I can meet up with you."

The cafe is down the road, so Anna and I walk there.

"Do you think something's wrong?" Anna asks me.
I look at her, "With what?"
"Ryan always plans out whenever we all meet up. It's unusual for him to do something last minute."
I shrug, "Guess we'll find out." I say as I open the door to the cafe.

"OVER HERE!" Ryan yells as soon as we walk in.
Everyone looks at Ryan, and he just shrugs it off.

"Look who's back!" Ryan yells..again.
We look and see Chase sitting in the chair.
"CHASE!" Anna and I say at the same time.
He hugs both of us, and we all sit down.

"How was Arizona?" I ask.
He sighs, "Extremely hot, but it was a fun little vacation. I feel so bad that I missed your wedding!" He says to Ryan.
Ryan shrugs, "Don't worry about it."
"So, what did I miss?" Chase asks.
Anna sighs, "A lot."

Ryan looks at his phone, "Gotta go. My husband and I are getting lunch."
"You love saying the word husband." Anna says.
"Too bad you can't say it." Ryan teases her while making the 'pouty face.'
"Okay, bye now." She says.
"Bye." Chase and I say.

Chase's phone goes off, and he answers it quickly.
"Okay, I'm coming."

He smiles at us, "I gotta go. I'm meeting up with someone."
"Is this someone a girl?" Anna asks.
"Yeah, her name is Caitlyn. She's cool."
I nod, "Well, we all need to hang out this weekend." I say.
"I'll be there." He says.
"Bye." We both say as he walks out.

"I'm gonna get going. Jace and I are seeing a movie."
"Okay, bye."
I wave as I walk out.

"That movie was good!" I say as we walk out of the movie theater.
Jace shakes his head, "Eh."
"Beauty and the beast is not 'eh'." I argue.
"They could've made it better."
I shrug, "I guess, but it was still good."

Jace opens the car door for me, and I get in.
"Where do you wanna go now?" He asks.
I look out the window, and look at the dark sky.
"Your place?" I suggest.
He nods and he drives down the road.

He unlocks his door, and I immediately hear barking.
"You got a dog?"
He nods as he opens the door.
We are greeted by a small bulldog, and it jumps on Jace happily.
"This is Max. I got him a couple of months ago."
He hands me Max, and I instantly fall in love.
"He's precious!" I say in a baby voice while holding Max.

"Yeah, want something to drink?" Jace asks me.
"You should get another dog, and name her Ruby." I say ignoring his question.
"Why?" He asks as he sits on the couch with me.
"So that they'll be 'Max & Ruby'!"
Jace leans back on the couch, "You're ridiculous."
"But you love me."
"Yes I do." He says as he starts kissing my neck.

I move away from him, "Stop, you're gonna wake up Max." I whisper.
We both look down and see Max sleeping on my lap.

"I'm tired. Wanna go to bed?" He asks while yawning.
I nod, and bring Max with us.

I walk into his room, and lay Max on Jace's side of the bed.

"You have got to be kidding me." Jace says as he walks in and looks at Max sleeping on his pillow.
"Isn't he so cute?" I say while petting him.

"Guess I'm sleeping next to you." Jace says as he climbs right next to me.
"I'm totally cool with this." I say as I lay my head on Jace's arm.

It's silent as we lay in bed, and I'm not sure if Jace is asleep or not.
"Are you awake?" I hear Jace whisper next to me.

Well, that answers my question.

"Yeah." I say.
"You can't sleep?" He asks.
"Not really."

"What's on your mind?" He asks me.
I shrug, "Just some stupid stuff."
"Like what?"
"Like, can deaf people hear their own thoughts?"
He laughs, "Good question."

He gives me a quick kiss, "Good night."
"Good night."

"How are you and Justin doing?" I ask Ryan as we walk around the mall.
He sighs happily, "Perfect. What about you and Jace?"
"Good, actually."
"Has that crazy girl stopped bugging you?" He asks.
I nod, "I haven't heard or seen her since the wedding."
"I would still be careful though." He warns me.
"Definitely," I agree, "This is boring. Wanna watch movies at my place?" I suggest.

"Yes, preferably 'The Notebook.'" Ryan says.
"Or..." I say as I wait for him to suggest other movies.
"Aspen, we're not watching anymore Disney movies. You're too old."

"That's funny coming from you. I saw you watching 'High School Musical' not too long ago."
Ryan puts his hands up in surrender, "The songs are very catchy."

"Indeed they are." I say as I get in his car.
"So we're gonna have a 'High School Musical' marathon?" Ryan asks.
Ryan and I high five each other, "Hell Yeah!" We say at the same time.

"What food should we eat?" I ask Ryan while I unlock my front door.
"We can order pizza?"
I open the door, and turn on the lights.
"Yeah, I guess- OH MY GOSH!"

I look at Chase and Anna making out on the couch.
They move away from each other quickly, and look at Ryan and I awkwardly.

"Oh wow. I can actually feel the sexual tension in here." Ryan says casually.
