Im Only Human

Flashback

Mac's POV

I wk out the door with Jackson. We get in the car and he drives us to his place.

I lean my head against the window and think about my mom. I should've lived with her. I would've had more time to spend with her. I think about the time when I made my choice.

*FLASHBACK*

"I have been open with y'all about everything. Even with Sasha. Y'all lying to me is like a stab in my back."

I'm quiet as my dad talks. He just found out that my mom had been seeing the guy she cheated on him with. He's upset because we didn't tell him about it.

"If y'all back up your momma on this and say it's okay for her to see him then y'all will go live with me. If you don't you won't go over and see her anymore."

I laugh. "So you're telling me I have to choose between you or momma."

He shakes his head. "Look at it how you want to, but you're choosing between me and him." He crosses his arms. "Do y'all think it's okay for her to see him?"

My brother and I nod.

My dad nods his head. "Fine. Get you're stuff and leave. Don't call me and delete my number." He says.

I grab my bags off the tailgate of his truck and put them in my moms. Just as I open the door he asks,"give me back the keys to the house." I get them from my purse and take them off the key ring. He takes them from my hands and says,"when you look at him I hope that reminds you why your daddy isn't here anymore."

After that I get in the truck and my mom drives away. She kept trying to talk to me but I wasn't listening. I just kept thinking about how this was all my fault. I lied to him and this happened. It's a my fault.

*FLASHBACK*

That's when I came up with the idea of living with my sister.

And now here I am with my mother in a coma and my dad getting married. I lost my best friend and I know Niall will never want me after this. Jackson is all I have.

"Are you ok?" he asks.

I nod and grab his hand. "Thank you."

He smiles and nods. We pull up to his house and we get out. As we go through the door he turns to me and says,"Damon isn't here. Just letting you know. I won't let history repeat itself. I regret that night so much. You have no idea."

"It's ok. I forgave you a long time ago." He smiles and kisses me. It feels just like it is in my dream. My whole body ignites. The fire melts the ice around my heart.

"I missed you Mac." He whispers against my lips. "I love you."

"I love you too." He smiles and opens the door. We go to the couch.

"Do you want to talk about it?" he asks.

I shake my head. "Just hold me. That's all I want."

He looks at me. "You could've done this with Nick or Neil or whatever his name is."

I laugh. "His name is Niall. And I know I could've done this with him but he isn't you." I lay my head on his lap and he kisses me again. I smile.
