Mistakes and Regrets

Jackson's POV

Once she walks out the door with Niall I walk to the restroom to make a phone call.

On my way there, people give me looks and whisper things like, "didn't he start the rumors?.... Do you think they're true?" I keep walking and just ignore them.

In the restroom, I lock the door and pull out my phone. I frown once I see my screen saver. It's a picture of me and Krista. I "dating" her now.

They answer after the first ring.

"Is it done?" he asks immediately.

"Well hello to you too."

He sighs. "God dammit Jackson just answer the fucking question!"

"Yes." I lean a shoulder against the wall. "Her and Niall just left."

I hear him smile through the phone. "Why are you doing this? What has she done to make you do this?"

He laughs. "She is reminds me of someone I know."

"That tells me a lot." I say.

"It's really not any of your fucking business. You're just another pawn in the game I've set up. You and Beth do the dirty work and I'll handle the rest."

I sigh. "Fine. What's next?"

What he tells to do next makes want to kill him more than I usually want to. The pure hatred he has for Mac makes me sick.

"Are you fucking crazy? I can't do that! Niall won't let me anywhere near her. And after she finds out I spread those stupid rumors about her, she won't want anything to do with me. I'm not doing it."

He laughs darkly. "Yes you will. I've got dirt on you boy. The kind that could ruin your life don't forget that. You're gonna do it."

My eyes start to sting at the thought of hurting any more. She looked so horrible today. Eyes bloodshot and swollen. Lacking their sparkle they usually have.

"Fine." I finally agree.

I hit the wall and the clutch my hand as pain shoots up my arm. I scream in frustration and agony. All this shit is stressing me out. I've hurt Mac so much already. Doing this will only traumatized more and I don't know if I'll be able to go through with it.

The bell rings and I head for the door, only to be faced with a very pissed off Liam Payne.

Mac's POV

"You hungry?" Niall asks.

I shake my head and just snuggle closer to him. He brought me to my house and now we are sitting here on my bed holding each other.

Leaving together is only bound to make things worse. They probably think we just left to have sex again.

"Niall?"

"Mhm?"

"Why did you take me here?"

He looks at me confused. "I though you-"

"That's not what I meant." I take a deep breath. "I mean why do you care? I've done nothing but horrible things to you. Things that I can never take back. I know apologizing will not undo the damage, but I do want you to know how sorry I am. I'm only human and I will make plenty of mistakes and I will have many regrets but I really hope you will forgive me."

"Babe,"hearing him say that sends shivers down my spine. But the good kind of shivers. "I have already forgiven you. I'm only human too, and I have just as many mistakes and regrets that you do." He wraps his arms around me and hugs me closer. "But you Mckenzie, are not one of them."

I dot really know why I brought this subject up but I felt so guilty that he was helping me even though I've done nothing but hurt him.

"Can we try again?" I ask.

He nods and smiles. "Of course we can. Just promise me one thing." I nod. "Do not shut me out. You have to be completely open with me. Tell me what you're feeling when you're feeling it and never lie to me. Ever."

"I promise." I make an x over my heart.

"Okay" his smile grows. "I love you."

I bite my lip. "I love you." I say as I break my promise.
