Beth's POV

I could hear Mckenzie crying in her room. Does she know that I can't hear her? I feel like I should've warned her about him. He's done it before.

What really hurts is that I sat there and watched her slowly fall in love with him. I watched him slowly ruin her life. And I did nothing. Nothing. I even knew he was cheating on her the entire time and didn't tell her til just a few weeks ago. I should've told her sooner but she had so much going on with her parents divorce and school and... I just didn't want to put anymore stress on her. And she was so happy. I had never seen her that happy. Ever. She lit up every she talked about him. Now when ever something reminds her of him, all I see is pain. Pain that I know I helped cause. But she forgave me instantly and now she lives with me.

After her parents divorce, they asked who she wanted to live with. She said me. Our mom was super upset but her dad didn't even seem to care what her decision was.

I hear sniffling and look up to see her walking towards me. I want to go and hug her and give her the love she needs but the last time I tried to do that she lashed out at me. She yelled at me not to touch her and to leave her alone. So now I do.

She looks up at me with red, puffy eyes. "I couldn't sleep." She said.

"Yea, me niether." I stand up and walk to the fridge,"Hungry?"

"Sure," she sit down at the table and just stares at it. "Can Nat come over this weekend?" She asks.

"Of course, Hun." This will be good for her. Natalie is the only one that can make her laugh and smile. She is mine and Mckenzie savior.
