Yoongi was not having a good day. (Like that's a first.) Motivation and inspiration just HAD to hit him at 3:30 a.m. and he couldn't refuse. Yoongi was actually satisfied with his work that night, though, so he went straight to bed.
He only realized when he woke up that he got a full one (1) hour of sleep.
He can usually function well enough on two hours, but one? Lord help him. He needed coffee and more sleep, but since Holly didn't shut up, coffee seemed to be the only option.
Yoongi somehow made it to Starbucks without falling asleep. When Yoongi saw the line, however, he regretted his decision coming as the line was practically to the door. Sighing, Yoongi went inside, found a small table and collapsed into the seat. He will claim this table for himself because he is not going to walk ten minutes back to his apartment now.
And screw waiting in line for the same amount of time.
Yoongi had soon fallen asleep for who knows how long and no one disturbed him. Of course, with the ever-increasing line, the noise was quite loud and Yoongi did not stay asleep for long.
He did have a surprise waiting for him when he woke up, though.
For one, there was his coffee in front of him. Yoongi squinted at it and poked it a few times before deciding that it was indeed there. Second, there was Hoseok, on his phone, across from him.
Yoongi just wanted to go back to sleep, but no, Hoseok had to notice Yoongi was awake and just had to speak to him.
"Ah, Yoongi, you're not dead! Good morning~," Hoseok starts, smiling brightly.
"Uhm, yeah," Yoongi tried to say. His voice betrayed him however since apparently that short nap had royally screwed up his voice. So, therefore, a voice crack was heard. Not the most pleasant sound, Yoongi mentally sighed.
Hoseok couldn't help but laugh at him for that.
"What are you, twelve?" Yoongi said, glaring. "People still have voice cracks. And why are you here?"
Hoseok blinked. "Why am I here? Because it's Friday, duh."
"It's Friday? I thought it was Thursday..."
"What time did you even go to bed, Yoongi?"
Yoongi had to think for a moment. If he woke up at 7:30, he must've gone to bed around 6:30. "Like, 6." Half an hour off wouldn't hurt, right? People lie, and Hoseok will have to deal with it.
"This morning?" Hoseok asked, sounding slightly worried.
"Yeah. Do you have a problem?" Yoongi challenged, sipping on his coffee and feeling much more awake.
"Uhm, yes? That's unhealthy, Yoongi. Not to mention you are skinnier than a stick. I've never seen you eat breakfast here before, too."
Yoongi didn't think his day revolved around when he ate, so he shrugged. "I usually don't unless I have extra cash. I don't have a job, really, so I'm kinda just spending all my money on this and... uh..." He can't mention how much he spent on his last headset. "...other things." Great, that makes his sound like a creep.
Hoseok nodded slowly and narrowed his eyes at Yoongi. "...other things?"
"U-uh, yeah? What's, uhm, what's so bad about other things? Can I not have luxuries?"
Hoseok shook his head and looked back down at his phone and scrolled through whatever social media platform he was on.
Yoongi sighed and sipped his coffee. That trust fund kid doesn't understand how poor some people can be, he thought bitterly. (Just like his coffee.)
When Yoongi was almost done with his coffee, he smirked. He had a wonderful plan.
Yoongi stared straight at Hoseok and slowly started to sip at the remaining coffee, creating the annoying slurping sound everyone just loves. At this point Yoongi will suffer his unwanted attention if that means annoying Hoseok. He's too tired to care in the first place.
After a few seconds or so, Hoseok glanced up to find Yoongi doing his thing. He gave him the most horrified look. Yoongi didn't stop. They continued to have a stare off until Hoseok couldn't take the noise anymore.
"Yoongi, for the love of God, stop. Please."
Yoongi smirked in triumph and stopped, leaning back in his chair.
Only he leaned back way too fast and with too much force and ended up falling back. He tried to lean forward and grab the table but it was futile. The end was near and Yoongi now accepted his fate.
The worst part of it was seeing Hoseok do nothing but smile in victory as karma did its magic.
When Yoongi's chair hit the floor it was exceptionally loud and it hurt immensely. "Ow..." he groaned. He felt winded. His back hurt, his head hurt, and his pride hurt.
Everything hurt.
After Yoongi did nothing but lay there in pain for a good ten seconds, Hoseok finally got up and helped Yoongi.
"You okay? Sorry I didn't help, it felt too good to see you get hit with karma," Hoseok said as he lifted Yoongi off the ground, quite easily too.
Yoongi did not like how strong Hoseok was. Did trust fund kids work out, too?
"Don't worry about it, Hobi," Yoongi said. It took him a moment to realize what he unintentionally did with Hoseok's name.
Hoseok gave him an unreadable look.
Yoongi sputtered out as quickly as he could, "I-I'm sorry, I, I accidentally mashed up Hoseok and, and J-hope... shit, I'm sorry." Yoongi's face was red and hot and he did not enjoy this situation. (Why was he so flustered, anyway?)
All Hoseok did was laugh as he picked up Yoongi's chair for him. "Y'know... I actually kinda like Hobi. It suits me. In fact you can call me that if you want." Hoseok radiated light itself with that smile.
Suffice to say, Yoongi didn't expect that reaction. He should've, though, considering it was the unpredictable Hoseok.
"Uhm... okay, uh, Hobi." Yoongi gave an awkward smile.
"Aw, you're smile is so cute!" Hoseok said.
"What? No, no, no it's not. I, uhm, need to get going. Gotta go walk, the, uhm, dog."
Hoseok nodded. "I can throw away your cup for you, then. Say hi to Holly for me!"
Yoongi just nodded and quickly left. He realized how tired he actually was when he started heading home.
Hobi, huh? He can roll with that.
