Hoseok let out a small sigh as he sat in front of his laptop, his fingers dancing above the keys in anticipation. Then he remembered what he was going to do, and soon he was at the page for filling out an application to the one and only BigHit Entertainment.
Go for it.
That's what Yoongi had said yesterday, so here he was, going for it. The questions were pretty straightforward, and he was doing it mindlessly. He was tired, so he was probably going to look it over in the morning just in case he found anything odd, as well as tonight just in case something was so glaringly bad and obvious.
Once he finished doing all of the questions (was it already 11pm?) he decided he should look over the questions at least once. So he did. And it was pretty normal until he got to a few questions.
Are there any other motivations as to why you are applying?
i don't entirely know if this is a good or bad reason or if it's a reason at all but like.. i need it as a distraction, i think? y'know, yoongi has been on my mind a lot since im 94% sure i have some form of feelings for him (dont tell him) and this might be a good distraction for that.
Uhm, what? That... wasn't right, and definitely not professional enough for anyone's standards. Okay, well, maybe it was right but he's going to deny it because... everything get's complicated and he really doesn't want to deal with that.
He quickly deleted his answer and typed out a professional response (with correct grammar) and then went on to look through the rest of the questions, hoping none were like that one.
Hoseok, much to his own dismay, found another one. He didn't dare read it. After deleting it and fighting off the urge to jump out the window, he rewrote his response.
Once he finished the meaty and important questions, he looked at the last box.
Any other comments?
Hoseok saw that he had written something in there, and prayed it was normal.
i have the absolute worstbest crush on yoongi but i cant even blame myself. he's just.. too good.
Hoseok was ready to scream. The saddest part about this whole situation his past self had gotten him into was that he couldn't truly deny anything. Okay, he'll admit, he might just possibly have a crush on Yoongi, but that doesn't mean anything. Right?
Sighing, Hoseok backspaced and left the box blank. He'll submit it tomorrow. For now, though, he had to talk to Yoongi about that McDonald's thing. That Absolutely Not A Date McDonald's Thing.
Taking out his phone, he stares at it for a few minutes, pursing his lips. It was weird how calm he was about the entire situation. He guesses that since he was an adult, he did have some chill. Huffing, Hoseok was about to unlock his phone when another thought crawled its way into his mind. Did Yoongi like him, too? He had the mentality of a teenager, but he really couldn't help but ask himself that. It wasn't impossible, no, just... highly improbable.
Shaking his head out of that thought, he went ahead and called Yoongi, hoping that this fleeting crush would head out the window.
"Hello?"
"Ah, hi Yoongi!"
"Hi, Hobi. You called...?"
"Yes I did! I just wanted to asked you about, the uh, McDonald's thing and when we should do that. Like, you said it was okay, right? But we never figured out a date for it." Hoseok wanted to scream. This conversation felt so stiff and awkward when it wasn't.
"Oh yeah, that. Uh... What day is it today? Tuesday? We could do it... tomorrow morning? We could make an effort to be there earlier, too, to make up for walking time and all that." Yoongi yawned after he finished speaking, which for Hobi was slightly odd, because he always thought Yoongi was never tired at this time of day. Well, it doesn't really matter, does it?
"That could work, yeah. Tomorrow morning, slightly earlier... meeting up at Starbucks, right?"
Another yawn. "Yeah. Meeting up there and all. Also I think it's gonna... rain tomorrow. Uhm. I lost my umbrella so if you have one can you bring it?"
Hoseok blinked. "I thought you didn't like rain. We don't have to go if you don't want to, Yoongi. It's fine. I mean, last time, you seemed pretty spooked." Hoseok gnawed on his lip. As much as he'd love go to on this definitely not a date date... thing... he was more concerned for Yoongi's well being.
Yoongi breathed in and sighed. "No, it'll be fine. And if it's not fine, then I can just go back home. Or something. I don't know. But don't worry about me, Hobi. I'll be fine. Unless you don't bring an umbrella. Then I'll melt into the pavement and live in the sewage system forever."
Hoseok laughed, loud and happy. "Okay, Wicked Witch of the West, whatever you say. I'll definitely bring the umbrella tomorrow. I don't want you to melt, much less live in the sewage system. That's nasty."
Yoongi's voice curled around a smile, "Glad you got the reference. But thanks."
"Anytime, Yoongi. And I'm not a heathen. Of course I'd get the Wizard of Oz reference. That's the classic of classics. Best summer release of 1939."
Yoongi chuckled. "Best summer release of 1939... well, can't argue with that. Anyway, I'm gonna need to sleep now. Maybe. What time is it again?"
"It's almost midnight. Wait, it's almost midnight? Since when? Damn." Hoseok sighed and shook his head. "Time goes to quickly, don't you think?"
"I think it doesn't go fast enough. I'm always stuck waiting for things."
Interesting, Hoseok thought. He guesses he knows where Yoongi's coming from, because he also feels like he's been waiting for things, but... he's never had enough time to properly wait. Whatever that meant.
"That sucks. But maybe you should sleep, Yoongi. I know I need to sleep. It's past my bed-time."
"You're an adult, you don't have a bed-time."
"Ha, guess you're right. But I'm tired. And you seem tired, too. So sleeeeeeep, Yoongi. And have nice dreams about flowers and lambs. Flowers and lambs, Yoongi. Flowers and lambs..." Hoseok made his voice fade out and he successfully did not laugh at himself.
"Good night, Hobi."
Hoseok chuckled slightly before saying a strained, "Good night!"
He hung up and promptly burst into laughter. He was just... happy. And being happy was nice. Hobi hoped Yoongi was happy as well.
Wait. He's going on a 100%-not-a-date tomorrow. Not a date. Nope. Just a friendly outing. Totally.
He's so fucked.
