Hoseok stared out the window of the Starbucks, watching a puddle on the side of road. He was spacing out, either thinking too much or not thinking at all as he slowly sipped his coffee.
He didn't even notice for a good, full second that Yoongi had sat down in front of him and blocked his view of the poor puddle. Hoseok blinked a few times before smiling.
"Hi, Yoongi! Glad to see you're... okay." Hoseok tilted his head as he stared at Yoongi. "Are you okay?"
Hoseok was very confused at the sight before him. Yoongi's leg was bouncing up and down like a machine gun, he was fiddling with his coffee cup, and he had some sort of smile on his face. Was it a smile? A frown? Neither? Both? Hell if Hobi knew.
"Me? Uhm. I, I guess so? Ye,Yeah. I'm fine. I hope." Yoongi let out a slow laugh before drinking his coffee.
Hoseok squinted at Yoongi. "You guess so? You don't sound so sure, Yoongi. I'm not so sure you're fine. I mean, yesterday's phone call raised a lot of questions on my end."
"It... did? Heh, uh, like what?"
Hoseok rolled his eyes. What was Yoongi so nervous for? "Well, first of all, why you screamed and why Holly really wanted to talk to me. You should bring him in sometime again!" Hoseok barely noticed he was getting off topic more and more with each sentence.
"I screamed because... there was a thing. And Holly loves you. More than me. Wait, that sounded wrong. Never mind. I might bring him, maybe. I don't know." Yoongi's voice was shaky but it held some sort of happiness or excitement in it as well.
"A thing. Alright, I'm going to go with... your house is indeed haunted." Hoseok also wanted to not mind the next thing Yoongi said. He didn't know why, he just did. Hobi is a nice person, after all. Who was he to disrespect his friends' wishes? "And! I would love to see Holly again. You should totally bring him soon."
Yoongi blinked a few times before slowly nodding. "Yeah... uhm. Okay." Yoongi took another sip of his coffee before saying. "I actually didn't remember a word you just said but. Sure. I guess?"
Hobi laughed. "It's fine, Yoongi! Don't worry about. I mean, you should take it easy. You seem a little, I dunno, anxious? Like really jittery? Maybe you should get a muffin! Wait, no, I have a better idea." Hobi grinned. "I'll go get us some muffins. I'll be about, uh, a few minutes. Okay? Okay."
Hobi then got up to go wait in line to get him and Yoongi some nice, chocolate muffins because Hoseok is guessing that Yoongi hadn't eaten anything this morning, and chocolate muffins are nice, so it's a win-win situation.
Sooyoung gave Hoseok an unreadable look as he ordered the muffins, but he did catch the slightest smirk as he picked up his order. He was scared for only a moment because holy guacamole he has two chocolate muffins on him and he gets to get food for the one and only Yoongi. Life is great, he thinks to himself.
As Hoseok sat down and passed Yoongi his muffin, he got a weird look from Yoongi. He was staring at the muffin like it was some sort of alien-thing. Yoongi raised an eyebrow before taking it in his hands and sniffing it curiously. He looked at Hobi before taking a bite into the muffin.
From Hobi's point of view, it looked like Yoongi melted the moment he tasted it. There was a pleasant smile on Yoongi's face as he chewed. His eyes were closed contently as he ate it.
Hoseok stared. He honestly didn't know what to expect. It was just a muffin... how good could this muffin be? Hoseok kept on staring at Yoongi as he too took a bite of his food.
Hoseok melted into the taste as well. Not as much, as there was a distraction in front of him, but damn, this muffin was very good.
The two ate in silence for a few minutes, taking in the muffin as much as they could, because this was something to be savored, not just eaten. Eventually, they both finished and all was well. Except for the fact that Hoseok wondered what Yoongi was so excited but worried about. Was it just excitement? Just worries? Both?
"Hey, Yoongi?"
"Hmm?"
"So... what are you so, like, worried about? Or is it just nothing? Because you also seem very happy. I'm not sure which one it is..."
"Oh, uhm... well..." Yoongi trailed off. He picked up his drink and muttered out something before taking a sip.
Hoseok didn't hear a single coherent word. "Okay. Uh. I didn't hear a single thing you said. Also, you have a little..." Hobi motioned to his own mouth, trying to tell Yoongi that he had some crumbs left over from his muffin. "You saving that for later?"
Yoongi scowled as he ran a napkin over his mouth. "No. And... oh, isn't it time for you to go?"
Hoseok looked at the clock before sighing. It was indeed time to go. "Yeah, okay. But just so you know, I'm going to figure out what you said sooner or later! And don't worry about paying me back for the muffin. I would've eaten that if you weren't here." Hobi smiled. "Have a nice day, Yoongi!"
Yoongi just nodded before choking out a, "You, too. Thanks, Hobi."
"Anytime, 'Gi."
And with that, Hoseok exited the Starbucks, his mind filled with so many questions.
