when you steal your co-worker's coffee (and their heart)

Yoongi let out a tired sigh as he walked into the Big Hit building. It had been about a week since he started working, although that first week was mostly the company letting him get the ropes of the job. Today was the day he would actually truly start working. And that meant he had to go to a formal meeting in formal attire. He loosed his tie just a bit before pressing the button to summon the elevator. Yawning, he checked his wristwatch. 9:20 in the morning. Ten minutes 'til the meeting. I should be fine.

When the elevator let out a ding! he attempted to shove the last bits of sleepiness from his mind and body before stepping into the elevator. No one else was in there, thankfully. He scanned the buttons on the side before pressing the one his meeting was on. He hoped the ride up would be smooth and uninterrupted.

Yoongi shouldn't have hoped for anything. Already, on the second floor, the doors opened and all Yoongi saw was a flash of black, white, and... orange before the person who stepped in was frantically trying to close the door by smashing the button in many, many times. The door complied easily and soon enough the two were on their way up, both to the seventeenth floor, apparently.

"Oh, hi- Yoongi?!"

Yoongi was awake now- holy shit. Turning to the person beside him, his eyes widened in surprise. "Hobi? What the hell are you doing here?"

Lo and behold, the person who joined Yoongi on the elevator was Jung Hoseok. In a fancy suit that looked amaz- not now, Yoongi. Had he been working here the whole time? No, no that couldn't be right, he taught kids, right? Or had been... he had quit his job and... then... was he working at Big Hit now? The past week had been odd for sure, and the two hadn't been able to have their morning coffee together except for Wednesday and Sunday. That was probably why Hoseok had been more stressed than usual, but also more happy.

"I- Yoongi I work here now. You never told me you worked here!" Hoseok seemed only mildly offended because he had coffee in his hands and spilling that would not be good.

Wait. "Coffee." Yoongi's gaze zeroed in on the steaming cup of coffee in Hoseok's hand. "Can-can I have some? Please?" He sounded desperate, mostly because he was.

"Huh? Oh, yeah sure." Hoseok handed his coffee over with a fond smile. "Well, enjoy my coffee, Yoongi."

After a few, large gulps Yoongi looked at Hoseok to thank him, but something else escaped his mouth. "Is your hair even in dress code?"

Hoseok was taken aback for a moment before he laughed, joyful and all. "Yeah, yeah it is, actually. Uhm, so, I hope I'm not late for that meeting. It was at 9:30... my phone is dead and I don't have a watch on me. Am I good?"

Yoongi almost spit his coffee all over his friend. (Friend? Friend.) Glancing at his watch, it was now 9:22. They were on the fifteenth floor. The only button lit up was 17. "Yeah, we-we're good. You aren't going to that uh, idol focused meeting, are you?" Was he hoping Hoseok was? Yeah.

"Okay, good- wait, we? Oh. Yeah, yeah I am... don't tell me..." Hoseok searched Yoongi's face. "Oh my God. What do you do then? I mean, I, I was asked to choreograph stuff and all. Y'know. Dancer."

The elevator let out another ding! and promptly interrupted their conversation. They quickly stepped out and walked and talked.

"Yeah. Oh, I compose music. Did I not tell you? I thought I had... when I gave you some of my tracks..." Yoongi thought back to when Hoseok asked him for dance music. Oh yeah, he had lied to him. Yoongi wouldn't dwell on that.

"That was you? Man, Yoongi. You're so talented! Maybe we can come up with something else together, since I think the meeting was asking about making good title tracks or whatever." Hoseok's smile radiated the whole floor. (At least, it did to Yoongi.) "This is great! I was nervous for this meeting, but now that you're here, I think I'll enjoy it."
