when you see a smile (and witness a laugh)

Hoseok was a little worried. Not for anything super important or possibly life changing, but just because of what had happened a few days ago. It had been constantly on Hoseok's mind yesterday, and was distracting him from doing his work and such. Why it was on his mind confused him quite a bit, but he didn't want to address that side of his emotions just yet.

For now, he was determined to get Yoongi some food more often, so he had a small sandwich with him for Yoongi; if he hadn't eaten breakfast or needed lunch. Hoseok's meal-making abilities weren't the best, but he managed around it.

Hoseok, after getting his coffee and getting creepy looks from Soo, finally got to sit down. He noticed that Yoongi wasn't at the couch or either of the chairs, but at a small table. Hoseok was secretly thankful they didn't have to spend the morning at the couch, as he really didn't need any more reminders of what happened.

As he sat down, he immediately noticed something was... off. Yoongi was just scrolling through his phone as per usual, but because Hoseok couldn't actually see his face before he said anything, he sat there, trying to figure out what was up. Was Hoseok just being delusional? Had he even gotten sleep last night so his brain would function normally? Or was something genuinely off and Hoseok just couldn't pinpoint the problem?

His thoughts were interrupted, however, the by Yoongi. "Oh, 'sup, J." Yoongi flashed him a small smile.

That's what was off.

"Uh, yeah. Hi. That's a new one." Hoseok didn't know what to do. Yoongi had said hi to him first, when he was clearly distracted, had greeted him with a new nickname, and smiled. He freaking smiled. It unnerved Hobi, and he was just plain confused. Heck, was this even Yoongi?

"Yeah, I guess so. What's up? You seem distracted. You okay?" Yoongi asked before drinking some of his coffee.

Hoseok snapped to look straight at Yoongi. Something was different... "Yeah, I'm, I'm fine. Just tired." That wasn't actually a lie. His work took a toll on his body sometimes due to the fact he had to dance everyday, even if it was just teaching, it was taxing mentally at certain points.

"Ahh, okay. Did you get enough sleep, or...?"

Yoongi worrying about him was something new, as Hobi was the one worrying more often than not. "Eh, probably could've gotten more, just work. Very tiring."

"Oh. Right. Work." Yoongi frowned for a moment, saying to himself (in which Hoseok could definitely hear), "I should work on getting a job..."

Hoseok pursued his lips. It was too easy. Too, too easy. So, he started to laugh, and he finally managed to choke out, "Work? Work on getting work?" Hoseok couldn't stop laughing. The pun was too powerful.

Too powerful that even the stone faced Min Yoongi couldn't help but laugh a little, too. Hoseok could tell he was trying his best to suppress his laughter, but it didn't work. Yoongi was smiling as he thought more about the pun, and even if there happened to be no audio to it, he was laughing as well.

Once, again, something off. Enthusiasm? Smiling? Laughing?

Soon the two settled down, and Hoseok muttered a 'sorry' before sipping his drink in silence.

"God," Yoongi started, "I don't know how that bad of a pun got me laughing, but I guess my brain is more open to them when I actually get nine hours of sleep." He scoffed in disbelief.

Well, that explains it. "Wait, you actually got a normal amount of sleep?" Hoseok grinned. "I'm so proud of you!" Hoseok, even if acting like a mom to five year old, was actually pretty proud of Yoongi, if not happy for him.
