Hoseok's day hadn't been the best. Due to Starbucks still being closed, he'd had to find other methods to staying awake during his morning classes. His methods had worked so far, but he could feel himself getting more and more tired as the day progressed.
He had just worked his butt off for an advanced routine for an overly cocky student who apparently didn't believe Hoseok could dance well, or at all. He shouldn't have taken the taunt, but the look on the kid's face was priceless.
But since his afternoon classes had ended, he was really sweaty, a little hungry, and just needed a breath of fresh air before he dealt with more teenagers for the evening.
Hoseok decided to take a nice stroll around the block, taking his mind of his menial worries for the moment before getting some lunch.
About fifteen minutes into his walk, while turning a busy street corner, he spied a face further up the street. Oh, it's... Yoongi? What were Hoseok's chances he'd run into him? Hoseok contemplated on talking to him or not until he saw Yoongi wipe under his eyes, which upon closer inspection were a little bloodshot.
Oh my God, was Yoongi crying? In the middle of the city? Why?
Before Hoseok could even process what his own body was doing, he was already nearing Yoongi at a speed that might disrupt walking traffic.
By the time Hoseok got to Yoongi, he also barely registered that he had basically tackle hugged Yoongi out of the blue with his still kind of sweaty self (hoseok is thankful that his tshirt is black and that no one could easily spot his sweaty self).
"Hey, Yoongi... what's up?" Hoseok asked in a softer tone.
Hoseok really wasn't expecting a crying Yoongi to give him a confused look. "Uhm, I should be asking you that. What the hell are you even doing?"
Hoseok was confused now. Yoongi seemed perfectly fine other than his usual irritated mood. But... "You're crying! What are YOU doing?"
"I'm not..? Oh. I am. Huh." Yoongi wiped his eye again, frowning at the fact that he was indeed crying. Or at least tears were coming out of his eyes.
"Okay, do you know why you're crying? Are you okay?"
"Maybe I'll tell you if you stop hugging me."
Hoseok immediately got off Yoongi, thought he still felt kind of... actually he didn't know what he was feeling, but he really just wanted to hug Yoongi again.
"Thanks. Okay, before you start worrying more than you are now, my contact was falling out so I had to get it out. I also have to take my other contact out, but you interrupted me."
Hoseok felt stupid. Really stupid. "Oh. Sorry..."
Yoongi waved it off. "Don't worry about it. Just lemme take my other contact out first." Yoongi instantly went to take it out like he'd done it millions of times before (which he had). "Kinda sucks I don't have a mirror but I can manage."
Hoseok nodded and was going to say something, but got interrupted by his stomach. "...Hey have you eaten lunch yet? We could get something since I really need to eat."
Yoongi blinked a few times, as if he didn't hear correctly. "Sorry, what? Lunch?"
"Yeah. Lunch. That thing you ha-"
"I know what lunch is. So you'll be paying?"
Hoseok shrugged. "Sure. Where do you wanna go? It'll have to be fast."
Yoongi looked around the area, humming while thinking. He quickly made up his mind, though. "Subway."
"Alright. Then, uh, let's go?" Hoseok asked. God, this felt like the first time he had asked someone out.
