Werewolf? || Remus Lupin

It was your second year at Hogwarts, your best friends were James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin. You were also good friends with Lily Evans. 

You were about half way through the year when you and the other boys had noticed that Remus has been acting odd.

"Don't you think he has?" Peter ask as the four of you walked towards the library where Remus was.

"Yea, he has been acting a little odd lately." Sirius added, a frown forming on his face, "Do you know what I've noticed." You said, the boys shook there heads.

You stopped and pulled them into an empty class room, "For one night every month Remus leaves the castle and comes back in the morning looking really tired and he has new cuts and bruises. And every time he goes out, its a full moon." You explained, James frowned.

"What could that mean?" James asked, looking around the group.

"My guess is that he could be a lycanthrope." You whispered, James and Peter looked at you in confusion.

"A werewolf." You and Sirius said at the same time, Peter scoffed.

"Remus, a werewolf? I doubt that." Peter muttered, his eyebrows furrowed.

"Bet you five galleons that he is." Sirius shot back, looking down at Peter.

"Your on!" Peter exclaimed, looking, for once, rather confident.

"Okay guys, we can't rule anything out, I say we follow him this full moon." You whispered, James and Sirius nodded, but Peter rolled his eyes.

"If he's even a werewolf." Just as Peter said that the door to the classroom flew open.

"What are you guys doing in here?" Remus asked, leaning against the door frame.

"Nothing." The four of you said in sync, Remus rolled his eyes.

"Right well, come on. I'm starving." Remus smiled, and the five of you walked happily down to supper.

Small time skip     

"Nice try Sirius, anyway I'm off to bed, see you in the morning." Remus said, standing up and walking up to his dorm.

Once Remus left Sirius spoke up, "Right what's the plan?" James shrugged.

"I'll pretend to be asleep down here while you guys go to bed but don't fall asleep. Then once Remus leaves wait a couple of minutes then come down here." You explained, the boys nodded to show that they understood. Then you put the plan into action.

It was around midnight when Remus finally came down stairs, you were lying on the sofa with your eyes closed so you couldn't see anything.

You could hear Lupins footsteps getting closer to you, you thought that he knew that you were faking it. But instead him calling you out, like you expected, you felt warm lips pressed against your forehead. Remus had kissed your forehead.

"Good night (y/n), sleep well." He whispered, and with that he walked out of the common room. 

You sat up, slightly stunned at what had just happened, your crush liked you back!

Just then James, Sirius and Peter came down the stairs, "Come on before he get to far ahead." James whispered, excitedly.

The four of you walked out of the common room and down the corridor which Remus had just turned.

You quietly followed Remus along the corridors, carful to keep your distance. 

At one point Peter had stepped on Sirius's toe, causing him to shoutout in pain, Remus was just around the corner. You and James clamped your had on Sirius's mouth to stop him from making any more noise. 

Remus stood still for a minute but then carried on walking, you and James uncovered Sirius's  mouth, "Ouch!" He whisper-yelled, you chuckled, "Shhhhhhh!" James shushed you.

You continued to follow Remus out of the castle and down the forbidden forest, a couple of times you saw Remus crumple to the ground clutching his head.

Remus stopped when you where quite far into the woods, you, James, Sirius and Peter where looking at him from behind a tree.

As the moonlight hit Remus he began to change. He was staggering around, his fingernails turned into claws and his head changed into a werewolf's.

"I TOLD YOU!" Sirius shouted, pointing at Peter, "YOU OWE ME FIVE GALLEONS!" He yelled again, catching Remus's, who was now fully transformed, attention.

"Crap." Muttered Sirius, the four of you walked back slowly, Remus whimpered, "Remus?" You whispered, stepping forward.

"(y/n) don't." James warned, but you ignored him, "Remus, can you understand me?" You asked again, stepping a little closer.

Remus's whimper turned into a howl, "That can't be good." You muttered, you were now next to the others. Remus started to run towards you, "RUN!" You yelled.

The four of you all sprinted away, deeper into the forest with Remus close behind. 

"I think we lost him." James panted after a good ten minutes of running, you, Sirius and Peter nodded in agree meant. 

Suddenly a howl ripped through the air, Remus appeared in front of Sirius, Remus stood to his full high, "Sirius!" You yelled, jumping in front of your best friend just as Remus claws ripped across you, sending you flying and smacking into a tree, then darkness.

 Your eyes fluttered open, it took a minute for your eyes to focus and for you to relies where you were, the hospital wing.

"She's awake!" James yelled, hugging you, which hurt, you laughed and hugged him back.

'Missed me then?" You asked, letting James go and grinning at James, Sirius, Remus and Peter. 

"Why did you do that?!" Sirius yelled, you looked over at him with a raised eyebrows. "What? Saving your life?" You asked, your eyebrows still raised, "Fine, next time I'll let Remus eat you." You whispered, James and Peter laughed. And even Remus cracked a smile.

Sirius grumbled but hugged you non-the less, "Thanks." He muttered, causing you to laugh, "No problem."

"(y/n), you don't hate me do you? For being a-a-" Remus started.

"A werewolf?" You shook your head, "Of corse not! If anything I'm gonna help you, Moony." You added, smiling and taking his hand.

"Moony?" Peter asked, confusion spreading across his face, you nodded.

"I think it's an appropriate nick name for him." You answered, the others laughed while Remus blushed.

"Yea, and don't worry mate, we will all help you with your little fury problem." Sirius added, we all laughed. 

"Thanks." Remus whispered, as the others joked around, you looked at him.

"For what?" You asked, slightly confused, Remus kissed your cheek.

"Thank you for excepting me and helping." He continued, you grinned at him.

"That's okay, I'll always be here for you." You whispered.

Remus smiled and blushed.
