Lauren
Cara has always lived well. She loved her family, she was the youngest out of four, and even though they were filthy rich she wasn't one of those rotten spoiled brats. If anything Cara's parents made sure of that. They supported her in everything and never failed to show her they loved her. She may have come off like a free spirit, but never too free."Did I ever mention you were always my favorite?" Said Cara while she watched me set up on the stage near the bar outside. It was in the left corner of the yard against the corner of the house, the pool twenty feet away to give the people coming a good space for a makeshift dance floor.
I rolled my eyes while setting up the mic stand and making my way over to the sound board, "You only love me because you get a free DJ and singer at your parties."
"Ah," she said while cocking those thick fabulous eyebrows of hers, "You know I'm good for it. Unless you wanna be paid in another way, Jauregui?"
She nudged my shoulder why I made sure my MacBook was set up, "Ha, I don't take sex as payments."
"Hm, not even if I was Camila?"
I almost pushed my laptop off the table, but kept myself calm, well for the most part, "W-What?"
"I saw how you were looking at her," she said while walking over to the other side of the stage and making sure the monitors were in check, "I always thought you were straight, but not after I caught you checking out Cabello's ass."
I felt my face flush while I started putting songs into a playlist, "C-Can we not talk about this?"
It was just Cara, Shay, and I at her house right now, just three hours before the party started to set everything up. Shay was at the grocery store buying everything we need from food to decorations. Not wanting to go alone, I believe she called Ashley to go with her. God knows those two are probably having fun.
I'd asked Normani to come with me, but she said she wanted to get ready and look presentable. I didn't want to call Dinah because I knew she'd just integrate me about Camila. Like she had at practice after almost knocking us both over. Apparently the Polynesian saw how I was waving towards Camila and persisted me as to what I thought of her. I tried my best to keep my thoughts and words silent.
"You two would be cute together," I looked over to see Cara grinning while taping the wires down on stage, "You know that's just my opinion."
I rolled my eyes while finishing up the playlist and walked over to check out my acoustic guitar on the stand along with my keyboard, just checking if it was alright because they were my babies. I would die if something happened to my babies.
"So I tweeted that you'd be the entertainment and let's just say you might be getting in some new customers because of me," Cara said while scrolling through her Twitter feed.
I laughed a bit while shaking my head, "Customers? I don't even do gigs. I just play at your parties," I said while hooking up my keyboard to the sound system.
"You should do gigs, Laur. You need to get your voice out ther-wait!"
I almost tripped over with my keyboard but quickly caught myself, "J-Jesus, what the hell?!"
I looked over to see Cara's eyes giving off this glint, "You have to play one of your originals."
I felt my jaw drop, what. I shook my head while standing up straight and fixing my clothes, "Yeah no way."
"Lauren, come on! I've never heard any of it but I know you've shown like Mani, Alexa, and Vero and they've all said you're like Lana when you sing but the music feels like The Weeknd. That means you're really good."
