FRIDAY - EARLY MORNING
Camila
"Come on guys everyone on the bus," groaned Coach Spears while fixing her Gucci sunglasses back on the top of her nose, "The sooner we get there, the sooner we get to the hotel where I can take a nap."I couldn't help but laugh silently to myself while taking my seat on the middle left side, "She's really slacking when it comes to hiding her hangovers." Ariana joked while leaning against me since I took the window seat.
I rolled my eyes, "Not like we don't know." I yawned while zipping up my hoodie and bringing up my cladded sweatpants legs. I thanked all the power above that we didn't have wear our uniform today since we're just going to check in and see the junior teams perform. Even though I was sure Ariana would probably drag me to the stands where they sell Regional Competition merchandise. God knows getting one tee is always on everyone minds, but not mine.
I looked up to see Keana passing me by while grinning at her phone screen, I felt my fists slowly clenching at my sweat pants. "Camila," I looked to my side to see Ariana looking at me worriedly, "We'll find out what happened."
I shook my head slowly while resting my head on hers, "It's not like she was mine to lose. We don't have to figure out anything."
Ariana wrapped an arm around my stomach while nuzzling herself into my neck, "Mila, she was more yours than she ever will be hers."
"I'm not going to go growling over Keana saying "Lauren's mine." Or some shit, she's not claimable."
"But you can win her over again."
"How exactly do you expect me to do that?"
"Text her."
"What," I asked her while pulling back slowly.
Ariana sighed while sitting up and looking at me impatiently, "Have you even texted her?"
"N-No. I was too-"
"Do it."
"Ariana-"
"Shut up and do it."
I didn't fight, so I just took out my phone and quickly opened up the messaging app to Lauren and I's last conversation. I stared at the screen for a good few seconds. Something was making me scared. Scared of rejection. The thought that maybe she would've ignored me didn't set well.
I heard Arianna sigh in frustration and that made me start typing.
Lauren. Can we talk?
"Lo," I looked up to see Arianna grinning at me, "Whipped."
"Shut up."
I felt my phone vibrate and I almost let my phone fall, "Holy shit." I whispered while looking down to see the green eyed beauty did indeed reply. Within a minute.
"Why the fuck is she awake," said Arianna while narrowing her eyes at my phone screen.
From Lo💚:
Hey...
Are you okay? Something wrong?"She's so sweet," I said in awe while looking at my phone almost lovingly, as if Lauren was standing in front of me looking worried and desperate.
"Ignored you, but then she's like this," Arianna said while shaking her head, "Something's got to be wrong."
I'm fine. Really. You're too kind. I just...what happened at practice the other day? Did I do something?
I got a response almost immediately.
