Lauren
"Mom," I said as we walked into the police station to see my mother having a (very loud) word with the guys sitting at the desk. When she turned she opened her arms for me and I gladly let myself relax in her embrace. "I'm so happy to see you."
"I'm happy to see you too sweetie," she whispered into my temple while I only hugged her tighter. When she pulled back she smiled at me before putting her serious face back on, "You realize you can't be holding those girls for no reason, right?"
The officer sighed, "Ma'am as I told you earlier, three of them were under the influence and are underage, they will only be let go to their distinguished parent or guardian. As for the wetba-"
I glared at him as I spoke up, "Her name's Camila." I clenched my fists while I felt Lucy hold on to my arm, rubbing it gently to calm me down.
He looked at me with his dead eyes before turning back to my mother, "Miss Cabello will be seen by immigration and taken to their offices whenever they arrive."
"That's completely unnecessary," my mom retorted while taking a manila folder out of her huge purse to slam it on the counter, "She's a citizen! The paperwork just came in."
"No records showed up of one C-"
"Of course not! It was just done," my mother practically snarled at the man who crowded away from her in his rolling chair.
He took the folder in his shaky hands before opening it to read its contents. He nodded his head as he set it down and talked lowly to the guy next to him who eventually stood up and made his way to the side to the gate door, "These are real." He said while looking up at my mother with sweat on his brow, "I'm sorry for-"
"Save it," my mother said as she lifted his hand to his face to shut him up, "We'll be taking these girls home. No need to call their parents."
"M-Ma'am I can't do that-I can't release them to you."
My mother rolled her eyes as she looked to me and nodded to the guy opening the gate door, "Go honey. It seems I have to let this man know who I am exactly."
The guy opened the door and I made my way in through with Lucy as the man lead us to where they were being held. We passed some cells where I saw some older looking men either with several bruises on their face or just shitfaced on the floor. There were no women.
Lucy pulled on the sleeve of my shirt and I turned to see her looking a little shocked, "You think your mom will be able to get them out?"
I laughed lightly while feeling a sweat drop down my own temple, "Well...my parents...they can do anything. They're very involved with politics around the city and have made a lot of donations to a lot of places," I gulped while remembering one dinner my brother and I had to attend where everyone that was in politics was there. I remember meeting the mayor and how he chatted away with my parents. Thanking them for their nice gestures of helping my school and Zayn's by donating some money in the name of their business to help the school make some new renovations.
Money talks.
"I'd be surprised if she couldn't," I said as we made our way to the last cell only to see the girls all sitting there. Dinah was holding Normani's hand as they looked to the opposite side of the cell to where Ariana was comforting a sobbing Camila. I felt my body flame up in anger in seeing my girl in tears, "Camz." I whispered while the man stood by the side, he wasn't going to open the door.
Dinah must've heard us coming because she turned only to jump out of her seat with Normani in tow, "Lauren!" They both said with tears and smiles.
