warnings: none!

This is so late I'm so sorry. I'm doing my best to write these as nicely as I can. This is a long one though (as are most of my chapters anyways) so enjoy!

The feeling that bubbles at the bottom of your stomach just by walking into a room full of the world's mightiest heroes was a feeling you were still getting used to.

You'd only gotten here seven months ago, and even though you were still figuring out the different thingy majingies of Stark Tower, you had already built a great relationship with the people inside.

You'd managed to get along with everyone. At least that's what you thought.

"Morning y/l/n!" Steve smiled, placing a cup of coffee on the countertop for you. "Drink up, we're doing laps around Central Park today!"

Oh hell no blondie. You scoffed internally. "Can't wait." You said softly as you smiled.

You quickly scolded yourself for speaking so quietly. You're an Avenger now, Y/n. Speak up.

You cleared your throat. "Thanks." Momentary pause of awkwardness. "For the coffee." You clarified in voice that was as as self-assured as you could get it to be.

You took the mug and sat down at the table across from Bucky, adjusting akwardly in your seat.

He looked up at you, and you smiled. He smiled back, but very curtly and emptily. It took you by surprise, but you shrugged it off. You always overthought everything. Surely, you were overthinking right now too ... Right?

"Hey, do you know where the bagels are?" You ask him cautiously.

"Pantry." He replied, not looking up from his newspaper.

"Oh, sorry." You frowned slightly. Why are you apologizing, y/n? You did nothing wrong.

You headed to the pantry, and sure enough, there was a large bag of everything and plain bagels. You took one out and popped it in the toaster.

You sat back down at the table in front of Bucky, taking a sip from your coffee.

Say something. You told yourself. Don't just sit here like a dummy, use your mouth. There's someone sitting in front of you.
