"Has anyone seen my boyfriend? He's about ye high," You raised your hand as high above your head as it could go. "Wears braids when he works out, has really nice blue eyes, could stir up a literal storm if you deleted his Animal Planet recordings?"
You'd walked into the common room with a burst of energy, a smile spread across your face. It immediately faltered slightly when everyone in front of you seemed to be absorbed in some form of technology, neglecting to notice you had even walked in. Even Steve, who had quickly gotten the hang of iPhones, was distracted.
"Hellooooo?" You sang. Tony merely grunted, though probably at something on his tablet, rather than as a form of acknowledgment.
You frowned. The view through the windows narrated a story of a beautiful Saturday in New York. The sun was out, a light breeze rode on the tops of flowers that hung in ceramic pots at building entrances, and the sidewalks were full of bodies clad in casual wear, rather than the suits and blouse/trouser combinations that the workweek demanded.
All this beauty, just an elevator ride and a foot away, yet here were a bunch of superheroes, slouched over on expensive furniture, sucked into a different dimension that fit right into their palms.
"You know, when global warming finally sets us on fire, you're really gonna wish you weren't watching Netflix right now." You hummed. Still no reply. Not even a gander upwards. Your face fell into one that displayed total lassitude.
With a huff, you left the room. You were unsuccessful in your attempt to pull your friends away from their tiny devices of enslavement, and still could not find Thor.
The both of you had decided to visit a new sandwich shop down the street for lunch together, since all the dates you'd planned prior always ended up getting cancelled or postponed (which then went on to become cancelled). It was beginning to seem that today would be the same story. You tried not to feel too upset, but some much needed alone time with each other was long overdue, and the hectic lifestyle did nothing to help it.
Then again, you could always go by yourself, but going without Thor when you'd already planned to go together felt wrong.
You couldn't bring yourself to change out of the new outfit you had invested in a few months ago for nice outings either (but had just gotten to wear since this date would have been the first nice outing in a long time *glares at Fury*) so you decided to treat yourself. Why not?
You walked to the kitchen, grabbed a tub of ice cream out of the freezer and a spoon, and headed to the terrace to listen to your music, enjoy your ice cream, and bask in the glorious weather.
