One. Two.

One. Two.

One Two.

You broke out into a sprint across the street, knowing that if you continued to walk, you would not make it home. You counted your steps in your head to calm your nerves, because if you panicked, you would not be able to think– and that's as good as dead.

Just focus on getting home.

Your eyes frantically scanned your surroundings, searching for familiar roads to lead you there, but every street sign and flyer was in a different language, and the abandoned buildings that seemed to close in on you were all crumbling.

Your eyes consumed the appearance of the sky as thunder clapped above your head and purple whips of electricity struck the air

Just get home. Have to get home.

Where is home?

The question alarmed so greatly that your legs slowed down reflexively to let your brain process the realization better. Home? You couldn't remember where it was, much less if you had one at all.

You'd found yourself in one, huge, royal mess. You wanted to cry. Your legs burned. Your stomach began to cramp up. The thunder screamed louder and louder each time it cloaked the sky with it's ferocity until it turned dark purple, as if the intense energy had sucked the saturation right out of the thick blackness of the sky.

You looked over your shoulder and he was still after you, simply walking, yet quickly catching up to your heels. You wondered how that was possible when you were running like your life depended on it (which it probably did).

You began to run again, but the lack of motion caught you off guard. You looked down at the ground to find your legs completely still. You tried to move, but they stood in the middle of the street, like a blocks of steel.

"Y/n." A voice, the sound of the thunder snaked into your ears, the very tone of it terrifying you as the echo of it lingered like ghostly whispers.

You shook your head and tried to pull your legs up off the ground, but they did not budge.
