1975
You sat with Tony at a mossy wooden bench with a paper bag as the rest of the kids ran up the slides and swung too high on the swings instead of eating their lunch.
"Where is your lunch Anthony?"
"My dad didn't give me any." He wipes the dirt from his small palms on his pants from when he had tripped from running away from the older kids a few minutes ago.
You opened your bag, accidentally ripping it a little, pulling out a saran-wrapped peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
You unskillfully unwrapped the sandwich from the plastic, feeling Tony's gaze on your food and since it was already cut into two pieces you took the bigger one and gave it to Tony.
"Really?" He looked from your hand to you, and you smiled, holding it closer to his mouth.
He gratefully took it and smiled. "Thank you (y/n)! I love you (y/n)!"
You giggle as a few strands of hair became untucked from behind your ear, biting into your own piece.
You took out the juice box a poked a straw through the top, and as you picked it up, you squeezed a little too hard and some of the yellow liquid trickled out of the straw and down your hands.
"You can share my apple juice, Anthony."
"I like apple juice (y/n)!" He exclaimed with a mouthful of bread.
"Me too!"
Tony took a sip from the juice box then handed it to you, and you took two sips, which made him shriek.
"You'll finish the whole thing! Don't finish the whole thing!"
"But it's mine!"
"You said we can share!"
"So?"
"So it's mine too!"
"But it was mine first!"
"I'm thirsty again."
You handed Tony the juice box and he ended up finishing the whole thing.
