Chapter 28 The fight *warning long chapter*

Nina POV

It was time to go on the mission

I put in my contacts and grabbed what I'd need, plated bandaged etc

I met up with Yusuke and we walked out the condo

The gang all assembled and we set out

It was late noon when we left

We arrived early night time

"Okay, Mono will guide, Yusuke and Yaza take back while the rest go centre" I commanded

We lined up and walked though the large vents

We got a bit in and I saw Mono freeze

"Mono?" I tapped his shoulder

He snapped his head at me and looked panicked

"The vent layout we had was wrong..." he said quietly

I looked ahead and saw he was right

I sighed and pushed him aside and went ahead

I knew the place anyway from a kidnapping years ago

I walked though the vents and Mono just followed looking useless

Mono mumbled to himself

"Mono shhhh were almost there, you best shut up before we get cau-" I was cut off when the vent panels creaked

We all ran down whatever way we could get as the panels started falling

I fell down one with Mono, Yaza and Yusuke fell down one and Aoi and Zigro fell down the last

When I fell I hit my head and blacked out

I opened my eyes and saw Mono next to me fiddling with a bandage roll

I grabbed his hand and took the roll

I felt pain in my head and knew I must have been bleeding

I bandaged myself and looked at Mono

He looked disappointed at himself

"I'm worthless, can't lead, can't help when my friend is hurt, I can hardly fight" he was beating himself up

"Your not useless, your name is Mono Crome, not useless, your excellent, believe it for once" I said seriously standing up

I looked around the room and saw one door and the rest was old and broken

"Let's love look here quick" I said looking around more

"I'll check behind the boxes" Mono said walking around the room

I saw him look behind a box and look puzzled

"Nina, what is KO gas?" Mono looked at me

KO? Knock out?!

"Mono don't touch it!" I went to pull him away from it but I saw his legs give out and he fell on the floor

"Mono?!" I was yelling but not to loud to be heard outside of the room

I saw his eyes were open but he wasn't moving

"Are you okay?" I asked shaking him a bit

"I'm...fine....can't..move" he looked like he was dozing off

"Listen, you inhaled knock out gas, your dozing off" I sighed

"I'm...sorry....no..I refuse to be useless" Mono sat up strait and looked me in the eye
