We got on the plane, and the flight attendants made all of their announcements. Cassie was energetic and eager to get to the U.K., but I was the total opposite. I didn't get any sleep because of all the anxiety I had. I'm just ready to get this whole entire trip over with. The plane took off, and Cassie was still bouncing off the walls.
"Geez Cassie, did you eat a whole tub of sugar before we got on the plane?"
"No, I'm just really excited. You should be excited too. You might be able to meet up with Oli. Ooohhh are we going to be able to hangout with them while we're there? You did say you were friends with them, so you probably have their phone numbers. Wait, how could you keep that from me?"
"Calm down Cass! I'm just really tired, and it's not that big of a deal. They are just regular people, to me at least. Now can you please stop shouting, I'm getting a headache, and the people around us are starting to get annoyed."
I managed to fall asleep for a couple hours, but I was rudely awaken by Cassie's hand hitting my face.
"What the hell?" I quietly said while peering at Cassie, who was sleeping.
Since I was up, I decided to just pull out my phone and check up on things. To my surprise, there was a bunch of texts from Oli.
Oli: can't wait until you and Cassie land! I have so much stuff planned out for us.
Oli: I want to go out for dinner tonight with just me and you, but that's up to you,
Oli: what kind of sweets does Cassie like? I want to make sure she has what she wants.
Oli: sorry for texting so much, I'm just really nervous. I really want you to know that I've changed, and that I'm truly sorry. I really want to make it up to you.I let out a small little chuckle at all of his scrambled texts. It reminded me of the way he used to text me when he was nervous. I would always make fun of him for being nervous over small things, but this is understandable.
Natalie: you still text the same way you did back in school. I'll think about dinner, and Cassie likes anything that has sugar in it.
After a couple hours of watching random movies, the plane landed. I had to wake Cassie up , which is always a tough task. Cassie is the most heaviest sleeper that I've known. She could probably sleep through an earthquake. I finally got her up, and we started to get off the plane. It was really crowded, so I made sure to keep her by my side.
We finally got out of our gate and entered the airport. It was of course filled with people leaving out of the country and coming into the country. The first task for us is to find Oli, then we'll go and get our luggage. I looked around in the spot that I was in to see if I can spot him. There was no luck at that, so I started to walk to the middle of the airport.
"Omg mom, I see Oli! You didn't tell me Oli was picking us up!" Cassie yelled, pointing in his direction.
I looked at where she was pointing, and there he was. He was on his phone, texting someone, or maybe playing a game. I took a deep breath and started walking in his direction. He took his eyes off of his phone once we were next to him.
"Oh, Hey, I was just about to text you and ask where you were. I'm glad you landed safely!" He said giving both Cassie and I a big hug.
I didn't hug back at first, but I finally gave in.
"I cant believe that you know my mom! How long have you guys been friends?" Cassie asked.
Oli looked down at her,and then back at me. I was about t say something, but Oli spoke before I could.
"We've been friends for quite a while. Now let's go get your bags so we can get out of here."
We walked over to the baggage claim and got our bags. We had four suitcases plus our carry on luggage.
"Wow, why do girls need so much stuff?" Oli asked.
"I don't know, I guess we're just complicated." Cassie stated.
"That's true." Oli said glancing at me.
"Oh shut up." I added.
We carried all of the bags out to Oli's car, which was very nice looking. The car ride was filled with Cassie asking questions about how Oli and I met. Oli answered all of the questions vaguely while I just sat quietly. He never spoke about how we dated though. We finally arrived at his house, which was also very nice.
"Wow, you must be very rich." Cassie screamed while running to the house.
"Cassie, you have to get your bags!" I yelled, but she was already inside.
"I guess she's just excited." Oli said while pulling out the luggage.
"Yeah, but we better hurry before she manages to ruin something."
After we got the luggage in, Oli and I sat down and fixed ourselves a drink. Cassie was sitting in the living room, watching tv. She couldn't find any of the channels since the channels are different from the U.S.
"Ugh, I'll just leave it on this movie. I have no idea what it is, but it'll do." Cassie said.
The house was really nice. He's come a real long way with his career.
"So, Natalie, how is everything?"
"Other than you not being with us, it's fine."
"Really, how many times do I have to say sorry. Plus, you've been pushing me away every time I try to make things better."
"You've only tried once, and I didn't decline this trip, did I?"
He sighed and rolled his eyes, which caused me to roll mine.
"So, did you think about the date for tonight?"
"Yeah, and I think I might skip on it. I mean, I just had an 7 or 8 hour flight, and I'm just really tired."
"Oh, I understand. It is pretty late here though. It's 8:37 right now. What time would it be down there?"
"I think it would be 3:37, I don't know. Can you show me to the bathroom, I'm going to go and get my shower."
All of that was a lie, I'm not tired at all, I'm wide awake. I just wasn't in the mood for a date. Oli guided me through his house and showed me to the bathroom.
"I have a room for Cassie and another one for you set up. My bedrooms over there, just across from Cassie's. If you want, you and Cassie can share my room, and I'll sleep in the guess room. I want you guys to be as comfortable as possible."
"No, you do t have to do that. Cass and I will sleep in the guess rooms. Thanks for showing me around."
"No problem."
He stood there for a little bit, but he finally walked off. The bathroom looked like so etching that would be out of a movie. It was very high class and very clean. I turned on the shower and let the water run for a little bit. When am I going to tell Cassie about Oli? When am I going to give into my feelings and fall back in love with Oli? When am I going to realize that this is all a big joke? I guess time could only tell.
