It was a couple of hours after going to different shops to try every food of every booth when we finally went back to our spot. I was sitting alone, Abel had a large stomach and wasn't contented that he went somewhere to buy us snacks.
Again, the scumbag Valerie appeared. "Who was that guy?" She suddenly asked me. I was sitting and she was standing.
"Excuse me?"
Valerie looked at me, then sighed. "Look, I'm sorry," she apologetically 'informed' me. As if I would forgive you. Never, for what you had done.
I looked askance at him, and raised an eyebrow as I stood to face her. Not to fight her, hopefully. "Do you really think things will be easy between us, V?" I asked with curiosity.
I clearly knew that there was a part of her face that had anger rising and that she was trying her best to conceal it. She blinked and held my hand. "Of course, Clarissa. I believe you now. Adam. . . He's a douchebag," she sobbed and then most surprisingly hugged me. Not tightly, but forcibly. "I'm sorry, Clarissa. I'm sorry. Oh, God. . . I'm crying."
Cry all you want but I would never give you what you want.
"Valerie, what are you doing there?" One of her friends said when they passed us.
"Let's go now!" She pulled her hand, Valerie looked at me casually.
"Here's your nachos," Abel gave a tiny box to me after five exact minutes.
"Ooh, it's cheese!"
"Hey, what's that odd look on your face?" He noticed it. "You know, it's not good for a gorgeous girl to feel very worried. It's bad for you, you might lose your beauty. Do you want that to happen?"
She laughed but did not give a reply.
"See, that's what I'm talking about! You finally smiled," he touched my chin, beaming a dazzling smile.
"What's the connection?" I was helplessly frowning.
"I told a joke, that was a joke. Just for you to smile," he was nodding his head. "I'm not really used to having that girl beside me with her face long."
"Yeah, right."
"Anyway, what did bug you?" He seriously noticed my face!
"V. . . Vale. . . Valerie," I stuttered as if it was my first time to hear such name.
He leaned closer. "What did she do to you?! Tell me and I'll gladly hunt her."
'She just came here again. It's no big deal!"
"What did she do?" He stubbornly asked me.
"She came here all of a sudden to apologize. She said sorry from whatever happened. But I never felt the 'genuine' feeling, though. I just let her touch my hand and hug me and sob over my shoulder. Whatever. I clearly knew that was all part of the show," I said very incompletely. I knew she acted to get Abel from me. But I rather not say that to him.
He snickered. "Such a fake person."
It was almost sunset when we both had to keep our things. "One last thing," I remembered. "Let's buy some things there," I gestured my head. Whenever I go to places, I don't miss to buy souvenirs.
"What kind of things?" He asked, then went out of the shade to dissemble it.
"Accessories?" I suggested.
The shop was behind the majority shades. A cute and a tiny golden bell rang as we entered. The shop was wide and contained different kinds of shirts, bags, wristwatches, keychains and almost everything.
We went to different directions to round it, Abel went to the corner where the watches were, while I went to the shirt, of course, and usually. Somehow, the shirts were my taste and type. I grinned, and I almost wanted to buy all of them. But that wasn't possible, was it?
He walked beside me, holding a transparent box. "What's that?"
"This is a wristwatch, it captured my sight."
"What do you want to buy there?"
I grinned. "Almost all." She replied. "But no, I'm serious."
"Just choose what you want. It's your money, anyway," he chuckled. I slightly glared at him but that was the reality. Everything here was my money's answer.
He grabbed a white v-neckline shirt, then looked at it. "This looks good on you," he helped as he showed it to me.
"A shirt. . . I have a lot of shirts. But nonetheless I'll still get this."
"Are you going to choose one more?"
I shook my head. "Definitely not."
When we were next in line at the cashier, I brought the money that my customer gave me a while back and gave it to the cashier but Abel had paid it first.
I did not give him a puzzled look until we exited the store. I was going to ask but no words came out, only a stutter.
"Didn't you like it?" He asked.
"Of course I did like it. But, the thing is that I'm not really used to this. People suddenly buys me stuff," I said with a low voice. I admit my friends had tried to pay things for me but it was another matter.
He smiled at her, me held both her hands to calm her down. "You're mine now, Selene," he whispered and for a short moment I felt perfectly safe.
