We went to where the wolves live. Their village was undeniably a place of wonder and beauty. And the thing that caught my attention was merely a tree. A tree that had thick limbs. Before continuing to hike, since their village was also a bit of a high land, I stopped and took pictures with it through my eyes. If only our eyes were like camera devices that whenever you wanted to capture moments, you would only have to click. One thing that made life unfair.

"We have to go now!" Abel told me in panic.

"It would only be for seconds, I promise!" I whispered. Today, I was selfish. I knew the risks. I knew that danger was just behind our backs. Wolves despised vampires, and vampires felt the same way. Our scents were flying around, but we were fortunate to get unseen. As of the moment, I'm afraid.

To satisfy myself, I was beside it and was touching things. Everytime I see things for the first time, I couldn't stop myself from touching it. I wasn't even a blind woman but all I knew was just I simply wanted to. Maybe my fingers wanted to get bitten by ants. I stared up at the leaves that had unusual colors of blue. I was trying to reach for one, just an addition to my collection. I was also pleased with the slight long shape of it, and it had thorns around. But sadly the tree was just living for seemingly generations already, plus, the slippery feel made me fail more.

I was about to look at the thing that made the slippery feels possible but I sensed someone staring at us. At our far one o'clock, a wolf was growling.

But she emerged from the shadows. The one who Tate was apparently most closed to in the whole pack. "You shouldn't have come here," she told us with a sullen stare. Her hand was holding the tree's limb.

Abel began holding my hand. He gave me a look. I was staring into her dark eyes. I wasn't shivering, trembling, or what. I had nothing to be afraid of.

"Come with me," she grabbed my wrist.

I followed saying no word, but Abel pulled me. Both of my hands were being pulled. I hissed.

"We have to trust her, Abel. She's Tate's friend," I whispered. But I think she still heard it.

He rolled his eyes and sighed. We ran straight to a narrow space until they all came out. The werewolves in their human forms were sitting by a fire. I stopped in shock not only because of that but also because the pale blue flames floated not necessarily in the air.

One man blocked us. Then another, then another. They were sniffing us suspiciously. Now, the shivers were here. Goosebumps were here. The beat of my heart started running. I held Abel's hand tightly. They clearly outnumbered us. This was the wolves' home. And we were the only vampires.

Luna did not let go of my hand when she took a step forward. The first man who blocked us spoke in their language. Luna told them something that made us continue going.

We did not go far until we stopped. "I notice how you looked at those flames."

"It's blue." When it should've been orange-yellow or what.

"It's normal. We get it from the tree you were hiding from. It's not the usual thing you see here in Pothar, right?"

I was surprised at what she said. So their fire wasn't only blue.

"Tell me what you need. So I know where to take the both of you."

"My friend, Tate. He's gone missing. He hasn't been going home."

She snickered insultingly at the same time strangely. "So you call your home his home. Anyway, try to ask Jonowuf. He might know where he is."

I decidedly ignored her first statement. "My thanks, Luna."
