"So, what are we gonna do with him?" Lucas asked, catching his breath. I looked outside in the dark street, then opened my mouth to speak. "Let's say we're gonna interrogate him."
The man suddenly breathed, then opened his eyes. He looked around him, then at us. "Where am I?" He asked to himself quietly. At first, he was oblivious that it seemed like he didn't know we were there.
"You again!" He finally gave the most awaiting scowl.
"Yeah, freak. It's me, your worst nightmare," I half-whispered.
The man did not move, he just sat on the ground then leaned against the wall. "What do you want from me?!" He suddenly shouted.
Lucas looked at ms, with a smirk on his face. "Well," he started. "Let us ask you some questions, sir. Make sure you answer. 'Cause one question unanswered, one bruise," he told him, with his arms folded.
The man laughed. "Go ahead, young fellas."
Lucas leaned closer towards me for a whisper. "I'll be the lookout."
"Well, you might be hearing this for a thousandth time already," my grin did not ever disappear. "Why are you following me ?" I yelled.
He wasn't scared at all, then laughed once again. This was getting on my nerves. "Stop laughing and just answer me!"
The man did not even open his mouth to respond. It made me so mad that I wanted to punch him until his face gave in. But I realized my punch was the weakest when I thought it was a strong one. I called for Luke instead.
"You be the one to ask him. Fuck, he can't speak when I'm the one asking," I leaned against the wall.
"Why did you follow her?" Lucas knelt down to face him. The man looked down, then back at him. "Like I said, sir. One bruise each time you don't answer. We're giving you a chance to speak."
"I just want to follow your pretty, pretty girlfriend," he grinned, showing his incomplete teeth again.
I lunged forward then held his throat tightly. "So, that's your reason all along?"
The man showed his tongue at me. "That is, young lady," he snickered. "And guess what? I'm the same person," he told me quickly as he removed his shades from his eyes.
I heard Lucas gasp. I was too mad and exasperated that I wanted to slap his face. And so I did. I knew it.
"Tell us why you followed them the other day," Lucas said with his low voice.
"I saw it," he raised both his eyebrows then made his eyes narrow.
"You saw what?" I asked and my voice softened.
"I just saw it," he shrugged. "That you were aliens, different kind of creatures that disgustingly eats humans," he spoke.
I looked at Lucas, with panic in my eyes. Lucas looked back, too, but shock was in his expression. Those words clearly weren't lies, and it all made sense. But how was it possible that he knew we were vampires?
I saw that a man would pass in front of us in my vampire vision. I thought about nothing but to suddenly sit down and imitate the man's position, pretending that we were having some fun here. It was funny I thought about that.
"I know and it really was funny!" Lucas laughed to make it look real. The man shrugged as he looked at them, but passed quickly. I quickly stood as soon as he disappeared, and same as Lucas.
"How do you know if they even exist?" I asked after a minute.
"It's clear, young lady. I just know that you're one of them," he answered that made me terrified once again. I made a side-glance at Luke. I was thankful he didn't know about my friend's secret.
"Look, it's dangerous out there," Lucas told me, showing that he was wary of the loud noise that came from the rumble outside. "We gotta kill him before anyone could even find us. And we have no other choice but to do it."
I glanced at him. "You're right. But I'll ask him one last question," I replied, then faced the man whose smile disappeared.
"Any more?" He raised an eyebrow annoyingly.
I sighed. "Are you the only one who knows it?" I asked with my unusual high-pitched voice.
"No one knows," he shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe only me. Or maybe not," he smiled wickedly then completed it with a guffaw. I was scared to think about the possible future of the humans knowing about our existence.
And because of the anxiousness I was feeling, I picked up a metal rod there and stabbed it uncontrollably to the man's belly. "Whoa, whoa . . ."
"I never thought you can do that, Rissa." He told me then went near.
"It's not my intention to, Luke. I'm just really, really mad right now," I admitted, and was even surprised for murdering a man for the second time.
"Oh my god," I said after taking a quick sip.
"It's the right thing to do," He bent his knee beside me.
"What do you mean?"
"Because if we won't kill him, he might be reporting us and we'll end up in jail. Or maybe he's gonna tell evidences that we exist," he looked at me. "But for now, I'm hungry and I'm gonna take a big, big sip of his tasty blood."
I noticed that behind the houses was a small cliff that had garbages on a running water. I had a plan, since she has killed that man. I looked at Lucas.
He quickly got my message. "No, please, Clarissa. Please don't."
"But, where will we be hiding his dead body?" I kept my voice down.
"I don't know about you, Rissa. This is all your plan, and you should think of a way on how to end it."
"You should help me, please. Because in the first place, it was you who decided to help me when I asked you for one."
"I've got nothing to do now, I'm already involved," he gave in, shrugging his shoulders.
Both of us grunted as we dropped the heavy body of the man.
"What made you go to the place?"
"There were cheap things there, you know. I thought about visiting."
Okay. But it's actually unbelievable for Vanessa to bite you in a precise time," I commented when we finally left the place.
"Yeah, I know," he replied.
"Where's she, anyway?"
"Oh, she's at her home. By the way, I've proposed to her."
"And?" I frowned, and my lips curled into an excited grin.
"The wedding will be on the day after tomorrow," he confidently informed. "Promise me to invite our Alex, and of course, your one true love, Abel."
"You bet your fucking ass I would, for my one and only handsome best friend who finally got noticed by his ultimate crush."
"Isn't that Alex?" He looked at me with a smirk.
"Oh, come on, Luke!"
"Yeah, just joking. You know me. And besides, I want my crown to stay."
