I was certain that everyone was worried about me the day I went to the human's world alone. I made an excuse there about what happened and what I did. I never told them what truly happened that night, because I already knew that they were going to worry so much and that they wouldn't stop nagging me again.

The excuse that I made was that these two told me to go there. And that the purpose was a wedding invitation.

The day before the event was a busy one. I came and went to the human's world to be with Father, Abel, and Tate. I honestly didn't want Tate to come for some reason, but this was my best friend's wedding, and I didn't want to ruin it.

The marriage ceremony took place not in the supernatural world, but in the human's world. Try to imagine inviting the bride's and groom's kin in the place.

It didn't occur in a church, which Vanessa wanted, but it did in a garden that practically looked paradise to me. Almost all of us opposed at the bride's idea because she had forgotten that she was a different creature now. And being a vampire being, it involved devilish acts. If one couldn't do just a simple one, it meant betrayal to your own kind. That was the tradition.

The bride-to-be and the groom-to-be just hunted in Grezsatly the last day, it was inevitable for Luke because he hadn't tasted a raw pokari since Vanessa infected him.

I was a bridesmaid and Abel was a groomsman. Tate was obviously the best man. We were all dressed in the plain color of white, but different in style apiece.

I made myself simple and my face bright yet elegant. I shaped my big and gorgeous eyes using a cat eyeliner that Vanessa lent me.

The kissing-each-other part was imminent, they were saying their vows to each other. Everyone was excited to see that part, of course. Most especially, me. I was staring at my two best friends proudly. My cheeks were aching, but I never cared at all. The part was happening. They kissed each other's lips.

Acting like a human was a big challenge for us, vampires. But trying to control the lust for human flesh and blood was a bigger challenge. Apparently, the biggest and hardest. I had actually anticipated for something terrible to happen, since controlling ourselves was unruly. But gratefully, nothing happened.

It was soon evening, every guest was celebrating a dinner party once again happening in Vanessa's mansion. Who else, though? There were expensive and special foods served all on a long table. Elsewhere were high tables covered with white cloths outdoors, and great, unruly crowds dancing with the music.

Abel and I were drinking some sort of wine that the newly-weds gave us. At first, I resisted because I was not really into wines and beers and ales. But they insisted and forced me to drink one. For so long as it's not poisonous, I joked.

For over two hours we were merely doing two things—showering ourselves with that wine and staring at the people with our minds flying. We could actually be considered as drunk now.

The newly-weds weren't present anywhere surprisingly, maybe they were busy doing something else, I could guess. But again, no one dared to speak, simply our eyes were on the people dancing on the floor. Or elsewhere.

The crowd consisted half of the school, Vanessa's friends, her parents' friends, and other relatives.

But the awkward silence was interrupted when Tate approached us all of a sudden. "Hey, can I borrow my best friend?" He asked Abel. His eyes were falling, practically sleeping that he did not respond. I blinked, as if I was adjusting to this reality.

I held Tate's hand then looked at him. "Yeah, let's go dance there. And have fun!" I told him then quickly left Jake there. The both of us went inside the house.

'Where are we going?" I curiously asked.

"To their room," he answered. "You'll see."

We were walking slowly inside, only fewer people were around. We went up, not to the highest floor. When he opened the door, I noticed that his white attire was a bit dirty.

The newly-weds were there inside, apparently, hiding. Vanessa was sitting on the bed, and Lucas in the chair. Their faces normal when they ought to be guilty or something. The whole room was spacious. I grinned as I looked at them. "So this is where you people are hiding. Don't you know that everyone's looking for you?"

"We just came up here to talk to you privily," he said, and I was surprised to hear the word 'privily'.

I stood at the front of the room.

"And we're gonna tell our plans. Just like what we do as best friends, right?" Vanessa grinned.

"Whose room is this, by the way?" I asked. This room was new to me and I hadn't seen this yet.

I was touching a painting that was hanged against the wall. "The guest's room, Rissa," Vanessa replied. How come, though?

I was too quick to open the sliding room before Vanessa could even start talking. I revealed a small balcony there as I proceeded.

But before that, I first pulled the white, transparent curtains that hid it. "Can I ask you a question?" Lucas asked as I went there outside.

"Yeah, go on," I replied without looking.

The crowd was beneath the balcony where I was. And my north was also the north of the crowd. I gazed as a man whose face wasn't clear to me danced professionally, like a dancer of some artist in a concert. That was how great his dance was. Only he wasn't wearing his dancing attire, but a wedding attire. So that told me he also went to attend the ceremony.

The man's face was familiar to me, I could clearly recognize him now when he faced finally the audience. The dancer I was gazing at was unbelievably none other than Abel. I smiled watching him dance at the center of the crowd. I chortled, I didn't know he could dance.

"How will a human know if I'm vampire, for example?" Luke asked, and I barely heard him. I wasn't focusing on their voices and questions, just only on him. "Hey, guys. Come over here and watch how a Mullen dances," I finally called. I wasn't up for interrogations now.

They went to the balcony and joined me. The walls at the terrace had holes that I could peek at. So I sat on the ground and did it. I pulled suddenly Vanessa's gown. "Sit down or else he'll see us." And he'll stop.

"He can't even see us from afar," Tate grinned, still standing up, resisting.

"Sir your ass down," I commanded.

Tate rolled his eyes and just followed me, his position a cross-legged one like mine. We all watched and went very silent as Abel did a dance that looked unfamiliar to me. It seemed like a heartbeat later when the crowd actually liked his weird dance and joined him.
