"Hey, what's the big idea!" Mal jumped up from the ground and started heading in my direction.
"Wait for a minute young bull." Zae placed a hand on Mal's shoulder stopping his pursuit. I turned to face the owl and held my newly tattooed arm into the air.
"Do you know anything about this ?" The air around it hummed on a low frequency. I had seen this design before. I just couldn't place it.
The owl huffed up its chest and ruffled his wings.
"I've seen that pattern on some of the older books in the library but I have no clue what it means, although I must say it looks badass." I turned to Sabastion who after a couple of minutes or scanning it shook his head.
"Well, I guess that means you'll have to take us to the library."
"I highly doubt that," the unfamiliar voice took us all off guard. Zae shot into the air and begin to search for the unseen enemy. Sebastian stepped out in front of the rest of us. Although he looked calm I could see that his powers ready to rupture.
"Am I tripping or did I hear something talk?" The owls head begin to spin in circles also searching for the unseen enemy.
"Demon scum, today you will join your kind in oblivion." In a flash, God-brother started to fall from the trees. Zae called down to Shadow.
"How did we let them get so close without us noticing?"
Shadow flung his cloak back and started to charge the nearest God-brother. Kato jumped into the sky and begin to flee. Creating a dust cloud as he exited.
"The time for talk and planning as passed." Small portals formed in Shadows hands. Dropping low to the ground he sucked an entire God-brother into his palm leaving nothing but his sword.
"Woah, has Shadow always been that badass?" Mal begin to charge behind Shadow, his goggles firmly planted on his face. Raising his hand chest level. Shards of earth flung out in front of him. All of the shards missed their target.
"Well I see someone didn't get a cool power up" the owl Kato flung himself into the air and watched the battle unfold in front of him. Zae started to swoop in taking out a number of God-brother as he went. I turned to Scarlet and Sabastion.
"We can't let them have all the fun now can we ?"
"Wait, Azari those man standing at the opening of the clearing, something is off with them."
All five of them stood there unmoving with their hoods still on.
"We can handle it Sebastian, now shall we?" With a slight nod, he and Scarlet both jumped into action. Attacking the first enemy in my sight I plunged my tattooed arm into his face. With a zing, the man evaporated.
"Woah," I looked at my hand and watched as the tattoos begin to glow a ghostly blue. Zae dropped down to the ground beside me and with Mal under his arm.
"It's clear you guys don't have a handle on your newly found powers fall back and let me Scarlet and Sabastion handle these thugs ." There were about 10 soldiers left. The group of five still stood unmoving watching the battle.
"Those 5 look like trouble Zae be careful." Shadow appeared by my side. Scarlet, Sabastion, and Zae turned to the remaining soldiers and begin to charge. Zae headed straight for the 5 guys standing at the opening to the clearing while Scarlet and Sabastion handled the rest.
"You overestimated your powers this much is evident." The man standing in the middle of the 5 hooded soldiers stepped forward and dropped his cloak. A bold head caught the gleam of the sun. The air around him begin to crackle as he drew his blade. I felt this type of powers from a blade before. The strange man Sampson had one along with Xandra's brother. Zae was already to close to the man so my voice couldn't stop him. Before Zae could race through the enemy force the man standing in the middle places his blade in my brother's stomach. Dark energy flooded through Zae's body. The man pulled the blade from his stomach then kicked Zae to the side. Everyone looked on at the man in complete shock.
"So who's next?" Dark aura started consuming the battlefield. I looked over my shoulder to see Shadow and Mal both stuck in place. Scarlet still stood out in front of me her aura begin to jump off from her body.
"Ah, this one might be promising boys, let's take her out before she fully awakens."
"Shadow get your hands on Scarlet, Mal tunnel Zae's body towards us we have to retreat, Sabastion buy us some time." Although the words were coming out of my mouth they felt forced. A numbness started to consume my body.
"No, " Shadow stepped in front of me and started to head in the direction of the remaining soldiers. Mal stepped around me with his goggles resting on his forehead.
"We will get revenge for Zae." Hearing those words my body started to move on its own.
Shadow fazed into the air. One of the God-brothers nodded and rose into the air following Shadow, pulling two daggers from under his cloak that made the air hum like his comrade's sword.
"Eliminate all of them." I pushed in the direction of the Godbrother in the middle but was intercepted by a different one. The cloak dropped from his head and a mane of golden blonde hair cupped the face of a man not many years older than myself.

"I'll be your opponent." He rose two fists encased in metal that seemed to hold the same power as his friends. The remaining Godbrothers all dropped their cloaks and stepped forwards.

"We are the Arch-guards, keepers of the peace" Sabastion stepped up behind me his presence causing my powers to spike under my skin.

"Brother, would you like to me to give you a hand?" Sebastion said,

Glancing at Zae dead body on the ground my blood begin to boil hotter then it ever had."I've got this. Move Zae's body, we might be able to still save him"

"As you wish" Sabastion begin to make his way toward the lifeless body of my oldest brother. The Arch-guard in front of me moved to intercept him but he wasn't fast enough. I pulled my hand back and had all intentions of annihilating him where he stood. He glanced at me at the last second and dodged my attack effortlessly.

"Your fast demon, if I wouldn't have been paying attention I would have definitely died just then." He turned his back on me and begin to speak to the other captains.

"Luther, let the scary looking one take the body of there fallen comrade. They all will fall today regardless." He turned to face me again and started to smile.

"Now since that's taken care of give me all that you have demon scum." Knocking his gloves together he charged me. Something told me we had bitten off more then we could chew.
