Everyone faced the scrolls on the ground. A gloomy feeling began to inhabit the space that we all took up. Zae's eyes kept flickering in Shadows direction whose eyes were invested on the scroll in his lap.
"So who's next?" The giant owl Kato still sat perched on the log. His beady black eyes scanned us one by one waiting for someone to answer. Zae stepped forward and faced everyone else.
"I don't think it's a good idea for anyone else to touch their respective scrolls, we barely saved Shadow from that dark vortex that was consuming him. There's no telling what effects these others scrolls will have." Shadow rose from the bench as Zae talked. His new violet eyes contrasted his dark features in a way that made him appear truly demonic.
"I disagree," he walked over to where the rest of the scrolls were and picked up the biggest one. Pulling it under his robe he returned to his seat and readied himself for whatever protest Zae was about to lash on him.
"Whose scroll did you just pick up ?" Zae's eyes began to search Shadow's. Worry clearly on his face.
"This is the prophecy scroll." Shadow's eyes cut to me. Making myself known I cleared my throat and stood.
"Although it appeared that Shadow was in danger, his scroll only showed him the past. When I dropped down into the vortex I touched the scroll and was sucked into the past with him. We saw the demons escape from the Void with the help of the humans."
"Wow, not many people know the true history of this world, the kids not lying," Kato spoke from the log and began to flap his wings. A small cloud of dust started to sting my face. Coughs started to echo among me and my siblings.
"Sorry, sorry, my wings are starting to go numb." The cloud of dust began to settle and everybody eyes were on me.
"Azari, why don't you do us the honor" Zae's eyes bore into me clearly wanting me to decline. Before I could open my mouth Mel spoke.

"Y'all are taking to long I'll go next." Before Zae could turn around to stop him Mel was already at the scrolls. Without his eyesight, he would have no clue which one was his. Clearly realizing this he turned to us and opened his mouth to speak.

"Someone care to help?" As soon as the words flooded from his mouth a leathery looking scroll rose from the ground and into Mel's hand. Zae started to push in his direction with Scarlet on his heels. A golden aura began to encase Mel's body. His head snapped back once his body was completely covered. Zae had finally reached him as the golden aura started to dispel. Besides the golden aura nothing else came from Mel's scroll.
Zae dropped down to a knee in front of Mel and placed a hand on his shoulder. Mel's eyes followed the hand to his shoulder then looked Zae dead in his face. Tears begin to well up in Mel's eyes as he reached out and touched Zae's face.

"Something's wrong with him!" Scarlet stepped around Zae and began to inspect Mel for any injuries.

"I can see, " clearly unable to hold the tears back anymore they started to stream down his face. Shadow rose from the bench and followed me to where our youngest brother stood. Tears had begun to fall from my eyes as I watched Mel take in everyone's faces one by one.
"I can fucking see!" He began to jump around with Scarlet on his heels. Out of all of us, she was by far the most excited for him. As Mel began to whoop and holler I squatted down beside Zae who was frozen in place.
"These demon powers aren't so bad are they?" He turned and faced me and a haunted look seemed to cross his face before he smiled.
"Yeah I guess not" pushing myself to stand straight I reached a hand out to where Zae still kneeled on the ground.
"Wow, you all looked nothing how imagined, except you Shadow. You pretty much cut the cake." We all began to laugh as tears still streamed down Mel's face.

"Did you see your father at all?" Mel stopped jumping around and faced me. A smile still stayed plastered on his face as he spoke.

"Not at all, a voice spoke into my head that my eyesight would lead me to him though, which is why I can see." He began to pull on the earth and a chair looking like a throne formed out of the dirt. He flopped down on it with that goofy smile still spread across his face.
"No offense to you Zae, I think your wings are cool and everything but I enjoy my feet planted firmly on the ground." Before anyone could open their mouth to say anything Mel was back talking again.
"I almost forgot, here you go Scarlet." His hand reached out and another throne chair jumped from the dirt. Scarlet who had stopped crying sat firmly beside Mel, a goofy grin also spread across her face.
"Do we get thrones also?" My voice came out jokingly but I was 100% percent serious. The thrones looked cool.
"Nah I'll let you guys enjoy the benches a little while longer." Scarlet, Mel, and Kato all roared with laughter. I turned to face the owl who clearly had been crying only moments ago.
A golden aura begins to gleam off of the scroll that was planted in Mel's lap. The scroll began to condense and morph into a pair of leather goggles.

As he placed them over his head his face started to frown up.

"Well I'm back to being blind," his still wore a bright goofy smile but his eyes betrayed him. He slid the goggles over his eyes and his head banged into the back of his throne. Shadow was at his side in an instant.
"Are you alright?" Shadow's eyes went back to the normal black they were. The clothes that he normally wore were back on his body while his scroll and the scroll of destiny were clipped to his belt loop.
"When I wear the goggles over my eyes I can see, but when I sit them on my head the world is back to being gray." Scarlet reached a handout and rested it on Mel's arm.
"Well, that's an easy solution to these. Never take the goggles off" Kato's head twitched side to side like he was a broken clock trying to right itself. Mel leaned around Shadow and stared at Kato."Brainiac of the year award goes to you...You guessed it, The Giant owl with the neck problem."

"Hey kid don't talk about my neck problem it's something I take very seriously." Mel opened up his mouth to apologize but before that Kato cut him off.

"Ha, All owls have this neck twitch kid, shows how much you know about us." Mel began to smile as he slumped back into his makeshift throne chair.

"Kato, we didn't even know Giant Owls existed until you appeared." I started to walk back towards where the owl was perched on the log. My bench seat was nowhere near as comfortable as the throne Mel made for himself and Scarlet but I wasn't going to beg him for one.

"Well, the more you know the more you know. Whose next?" Everyone's eyes drilled into me.

"Guess I am." I began to walk towards the remaining three scrolls left on the ground. The one to the right was black like Shadow's but with red cracks weaving around it. The one in the middle was all white with clouds moving along the surface. It was clear to see that this one was Zae's. The last one was a pale blue. Nothing stood out special about it. It was just dull. This one had to be Scarlet's. I reached my hand for the black and cracked one when the pale blue one shot into my hand. The air around me began to hum as a lightning fell from the sky falling directly onto my head. I clutched my fists as the lightning started to weave its way through my body. The skin on my arm begin to burn as dark lines begin to take form on my skin. The stroll dropped from my hand as the lines started to take the shape of storm clouds encircling my arm. Zae and Shadow appeared over my shoulder followed by Mal and Scarlet.

"Well that's new" Mal reached to touch the tattoo and was met with a jolt that caused him to fall flat on his ass. Without knowing it I begin to smile.

"Yes, yes it is"
