The branches on the tree cut my face as I raced through the trees. The sound of blood pumping through my ears almost blocked out the sound of my breath. I had left my family exposed, and if anyone got hurt, it would lay on my shoulders. Shaking myself from though thoughts I increased the power I funneled through my feet and sped through the trees. I broke the clearing to find 7 pairs of curious eyes on me. Zae rose from his spot by the fire and headed my way. I closed the distance between us struggling to catch my breath.

"You've returned?" His voice was stern. Raising my eyes past him, I locked them on Sebastian. The fire cast an almost tan on his pale skin. I stepped around Zae and headed in his direction. I heard Zae footsteps behind me, and I knew a lecture was about to occur.

"Azari, you can't storm off like some spoiled brat whenever you get offended." Glancing over my shoulder, I saw the irritation in Zae face but I didn't have time for it, we didn't have time for it.

"Not now Zae," I said as I returned my eyes to Sebastian who was no standing. Finally, I closed the space between the two of us and opened my mouth to tell him the situation when Zae cut in again.

"Everything isn't on your time Azari." Turning to Face him I gave him a look that would silence anyone. Turning back to Sebastian I opened my mouth to speak when a blood curdling screech silenced everyone on the clearing. Lucas jumped from his feet to my left followed by Xandra. Scarlet stood to her feet lugging the broadsword beside her.

"What was that?" Zae said as he turned to face the noise. Finally finding my voice, I turned to him.

"It's what I've been trying to warn you about. A demon bounty hunter was hired to kill Sebastian and me." Lucas and Xandra head's snapped in my direction looks of bewilderment written across their faces.

"Did you say a demon bounty hunter?" Xandra voice consumed the space that the silence had been taking over only moments prior. Nodding my head, I stepped towards Sebastian.

"We have to g-" My words were drowned out by the sound of another yell. The trees from the right side of the clearing began to fall as the demon drew closer. Shadow stepped forward and nodded to me, apparently the only person who had heard me. Lucas turned to us and shook his head no.

"No matter where we run the bounty hunter will follow. We have to either destroy him or kill the person who made the contract." Lucas said as he stepped between us and the demon. Another screech let me know the demon was getting closer. Xandra turned to me now sign of fear showing on her beautiful face.

"Do you know who made the contract?" She said as pulled the blade she kept on her side. Searching through my brain, I pulled the name out of the oblivion I call my brain.

"Aphesis." Lucas turned around instantly neglecting the demon that would be exiting into the clearing in minutes. Xandra took a step back another look of bewilderment on his face.

"Did you just say Aphosis?" Lucas asked. Nodding my head, I turned back to Sebastian had grown paler then he had been in the city. Zae stepped forward between Lucas and me confusion all over his face.

"Whose Aphosis?" He said pulling Mel and Scarlet closer to him.

"Someone we cannot hope to beat, for you to piss him off Azari you must have done something bad indeed," Lucas said as he began to cover the clearing with his moss green fog.

"I've never met the man," I yelled over the shriek that came from somewhere in the forest. Xandra placed a hand on my shoulder and shook her head.

"The snake Azari, one of the oldest Demons in existence." She turned on her heels and stood beside her brother. The air around her began to crystallize as her aura radiated off her body.
