Around the mid 1800s in England...

"Mother, why shall I be here. There is no man that could fancy me, marriage can wait." I pouted, as my mother, Thalia, and I walked in the large ballroom.

"Young lady, don't use such words. You shall find a wealthy man and marry! Now, stop your resistance and join the ball." My mother stopped me from walking, and gave me a mask. "Here, this is your masquerade mask for the waltz. Run along."

I nodded, looking at the studded gold and white mask that I held in my hand.

"Yes mother." I put on my mask, and slowly walked to the edge of the ballroom floor. I watched as everyone danced to the waltz. Dresses flowed everywhere, as men twirled their waltzing partners.

My mother wants me to marry so suddenly, it's absurd. Surely, I'll find a man, but not so soon. I believe finding love so fast is impossible. The only reason why she wants me to do so is for status and riches. My family have always been poor, and finding wealthy men has been a way of living.

But what mother wants, mother gets. Sadly, this is out of my control.

I sighed to myself, as I continued to observe.

"Wonderful isn't it?" A man said next to me. I looked over and his chocolate brown eyes made it hard for me to speak. The man wore royal looking clothing, and had long brown locks. He also wore a masquerade mask, but his was red and gold.

"Yes." Is all I managed to stutter. The man looked back at the waltz.

"It always entrances me." He smiled, and looked back at me. "If you don't mind me asking, what's a ravishing young woman like you doing off the ballroom floor." He asked.

"I have no partner..." I said shyly.

"My heavens, there's a stupid man somewhere out there." He shook his head. "Madam, do you mind if I take your hand in this waltz?" He asked.

"Why I don't mind." I said.

"Splendid." He gently took my hand, and led me out onto the ballroom floor. A new waltz song began, and we moved to the 3/4 tempo.

One hand was up and intertwined with his, and my other hand rested on his shoulder as we danced. His other hand remained on the side of my corset.

"Who taught you how to dance? You're excellent at this." He asked.

"My father." I smiled from under my mask.

"He's done a fine job."

"Why thank you." He twirled me around, and brought me back closer to him.

"You are quite the dancer yourself." I said.

"Oh, it's nothing really, but thank you." I could tell he was smiling.

We stepped away from each other, and looked deep into one another's eyes. Our hands went up together, as we walked in a circle. He pulled me back to him, and began to waltz again.

"Pardon my question if it's much, but where are you from?" I asked.

"Right here in London. Actually not that far away from this palace."

"Oh..." I said, as the song came to an end. As the music began to wind down, the man dipped me as his hand stayed on my back.

He brought me back up, and pulled me close. Then grabbing my hand, and kissing the top of it. I felt my cheeks get hot, thank the heavens he can't see my face.

"What's your name?" I asked, feeling like I should know alot more about this mystery man.

"Oh, where's my manners. My name is Prince Robert Downey Jr. Son of King Downey Sr. of England." He said happily. My eyes grew wide, as I comprehended what he just said.

"And your name Madam?" Prince Downey asked, waking me from my thoughts.

"Princess Y/F/N of Bibury." I said, feeling bad for telling a lie. Lies should never be first response, but this man shall not know about my poor life.

"Beautiful name." He said, and bowed to me; showing courtesy. He took off his mask, and looked at me. His face was so handsome. I've never seen such a good looking man in my life.

"I shall be leaving." He began to walk away, but I called out to him.

"So soon?" I said, as I took off my mask. The prince turned back towards me.

"I'm afraid I must princess." He said a little saddened, as he placed his hand gently on the side of my face. "A beautiful face like yours should never frown. I promise, you'll see me again." He assured, as he kissed my cheek.

"Are you certain?" I said, in a light voice.

"Yes, I always keep my promises..." He whispered in my ear. As he spoke in his low voice, his warm breath tickled my ear.

And with that, he made his way to the large double doors, and was gone. Soon, I was left with myself.

I know that I said finding love so quickly was impossible, but I think Prince Robert Downey Jr just changed my mind...
