Nathan drove to a peaceful looking park that wasn't that far away. We got out the car, and I placed my bags in his trunk.
"This park seems nice." I said, looking around.
"It is." He closed the trunk. "You ever been here before?"
"No, I only heard about it. My mom barely takes me anywhere." I chuckled.
"Well, I think you'll enjoy it." Nathan smiled. "Come on."
We walked down the pathway. There was beautiful trees on either side of us, and the sound of birds chirping was faint.
There was a vacant park bench that was close to a little lake. We decided to sit there for a little while.
"This is absolutely beautiful." I said, looking at the lake. Ducks were floating by, flapping their wings happily in the water.
"I knew you'll like it." He said. "I used to come here often... but I kinda stopped."
"Why's that?" I looked at him. Nathan's eyes were lighter in the sun, and it was so pretty.
"Stuff started happening to me that were... not so good, so I just stopped coming. I felt like it was no use in even making a effort anymore." He explained.
"Oh... I'm sorry."
"It's ok. I guess things happen for a reason right?"
"Yeah, I guess so." I looked away, and started playing with my nails.
I thought about it. The kiss that happened the other day. I want to bring it up, I want to talk about it. This is something I can't just shake off.
It's one of those moments where no matter what happens or what you think about, that thought always seem to pop back up in your head.
Like one second you're like 'wow that pizza was good', and the next second you're like 'that kiss with Nathan was amazing though'. It never ends.
It makes me feel all unhinged and shit.
I looked back up at Nathan, only to find his beautiful eyes looking back at me.
"I have a question." I said.
"Shoot."
"What's your intentions?" I said. What the hell! Why did I ask that? Am I going insane!? Damn it, why can't I control my mouth?
"What do you mean?" He asked, cocked his head to the side.
Oh shit.
"Well, um. The kiss... and you know. I was just wondering." I managed to say.
"The intention is whatever you want it to be, and only if you let this continue. But for me personally, I'm more then happy to have you around. There's something about you that just draws me in, and I can't help that."
"You do know about me right?"
"I do, what makes you think I won't. And I know what the situation is, but the thing is, is that I don't care. I knew from the moment you sat in front of my desk that I needed you."
"Nathan I feel the same way, but in this situation you have to care. Look at the age gap."
"Age is nothing but a number."
"Nathan..." I placed my hand softly on his cheek. "You and I both know this. They won't let us be together. If they found out, you'll lose your job."
He looked away, in disappointment.
"But I'll tell you this. My birthday is coming up, and senior year is bound to come to an end. Once those two things are accomplished, it'll be ok to call it official." I explained.
"I'm ok with that." Nathan agreed.
"But for now, we gotta keep this under tight lock." I said, motioning my finger between the two of us.
"I'm ok with that too." He smiled.
"Good." I smiled back, and I gave him a kiss.
"What time is it?" I asked. Nathan checked his wristwatch.
"4:20." Nathan said.
"Haha, blazing it up!" I said, laughing.
"Seriously?" He said, trying no to laugh.
"Most certainly serious." I smiled.
"3 day suspension for even the thought." He said.
"Hey! You can't do that, we're out of school!" I laughed.
"Doesn't matter, I run things around here." Nathan said in a country accent, winking. I giggled.
"I have to go though... I have a science project I have to start." I said.
"Oh, ok. I'll drive you home."
"Alright, but you'll have to drop me off at the corner. I don't want my mom freaking out." I said.
"No problem." Nathan said, and he kissed me.
Time skip...
Nathan dropped me off at the corner. I gave him one last kiss and got out. I walked down the sidewalk till I got to my house.
Nathan didn't drive off until he saw me go inside; making sure I got home safe.
I walked up the stairs and said hi to my mom. I plopped my bags down in the corner of my room, and got my books out.
I began my project on the big bang theory. Man, I wished the project would've been about the show because I for sure would know that I'll get a 100.
Suddenly, my phone began to ring. I took my phone out my back pocket to check the caller ID. It was Charlie.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey, uh what's up?"
"Nothing much, just starting the science project. How about you?"
"Just been thinking... about alot of things."
"Ohh... Wanna talk about it?"
"I do, but I'm afraid to." Charlie said.
"Why?" I said, laying down on my bed.
"Because I'm afraid you won't feel the same."
There was a little silence in the phone. Then he spoke up again.
"But I guess this can't be held in me forever." He sighed.
"I like you... and I just wanted you to know that. I always have, and there's no one else that I want but you." Charlie said.
My eyes grew wide but I still said nothing.
"So I'm asking you this... will you be my girlfriend?" Charlie asked.
