In a world where aliens conquered, and humans were forced to fight against the higher power...
___________"Go!" Robert yelled at me, shooting at a field of aliens coming our way.
The land, and everything we knew before was completely damaged. The grass was no longer green, and the beautiful blue sky that once prospered is now dark and grey with clouds of black.
I am a sergeant that has been here for so many years, and I never seen anything like this.
The armor we both wore to shield us from enemy fire was getting heavily damaged.
"No! I won't leave you here against them!" I yelled back, the noise of aircrafts above made it hard of hearing.
I came from behind a vacant building, and reloaded my gun. I ran to stand beside him to fight against these dominant creatures.
"I'm the lieutenant of this squadron and you go by my orders! Now, go back to base!" He said.
I glared at him, angry at how he's preventing me from the fight. I quickly ran to the other side, away from the fight, going back to the vacant building.
I watched from the side. The other troops were fighting against the aliens coming in. I looked up above me and saw aircrafts shooting at each other. I heard a aircraft get shot down, and a loud crash no so long after it.
I looked back at Robert, who was now crouched down behind rubble, reloading his weapon and getting a hand grenade ready. He pulled the pin and threw the grenade far. It went off about 5 seconds later.
Boom!
The enemy bodies were blown apart, and other bodies were thrown farther distances, guaranteeing death.
Robert stood back up, and ran while shooting more down. More troops backed him up, but he sent a order to disperse.
"Evans!" I yelled, getting Chris' attention. He was running towards the fight until he heard my voice. He looked over in my direction.
"Y/N! We need more troops!"
"I know, but he ordered me back to base! I'm not going, but I need a switch out!" I said.
Chris ran over to me, and took off his helmet, then dug into his pockets. He pulled out a square object.
"Here, this will help." Chris handed me the object. I put it on the center of my chest. The object turned blue, then began to expand to fix and cover my damaged armor.
It covered my whole body, giving me more protection from harm. The blue color faded, and it now matched the original grey color of my armor.
"Thank you." I said, relieved. He gave me more bullets.
"Come on, let's go." Chris said, leading me out. We kept ducking, due to the loud grenade explosions that went off every few minutes. It was a complete war zone.
Robert was heading in a different direction, as we ran. I saw a alien coming from the back, and I knew I had to warn him before it was too late.
"Robert! Behind you!" I yelled, making him turn around. Before he could do anything, the alien shot Robert in the chest two times. Robert fell to his knees in agony, then fell down flat on his stomach. As this happened, his helmet hit the ground harshly.
"NO! ROBERT!" I yelled, but Chris was still trying to get me out of there. "LET ME GO! HE'S GOING TO DIE!"
"We have to go!" Chris yelled. I got out of Chris' grip, and began to run to Robert. "Y/N!" He yelled my name but I didn't stop.
