"How was the ball yesterday darling? Did you meet a fine young man like I asked you to?" My mother asked me, as we ate breakfast at the long table of my families small cottage.

I swallowed my food, and elegantly wiped my mouth with a cloth.

"Indeed I did mother." I responded, blushing at the thought.

"Oh is that so. Who is this man."

"His name is Prince Robert Downey Jr of England." I said, as my mother looked up at me with wide eyes.

"P-Prince Downey?" She said, like she couldn't believe what she just heard.

"Yes, that is his name. Is there something wrong?" I questioned.

"Yes indeed, there is something wrong! Do you know who that man is! He's just like his father, no good." My mother, raised her voice.

"Please mother calm yourself, I'm sure you are mistaken. This man was nothing but polite towards me and--"

"Polite. Of course they're always polite on first encounter, things change as time goes by!" She exclaimed. "He is a no good womanizer just like his father. And I know his father... very well."

"Weren't you the one who told me to find a strong man for myself with money, so I can marry? Once I found my love, and obeyed your orders you give me this treatment. How do you know he's just like his father, if you never met the man!" I slammed my hand onto the table, and my mother flinched at the sudden noise.

There was silence and tension that filled the room. I stood up, and fixed my dress.

"Excuse me." I said, walking away from the table. I made my way outside, and began to walk into the well known forestry.

How could she!? I follow her orders, and find a man who truly amazes me, and she says he's no good. What logic! She has never even met the man. I do not believe in that like father like son philosophy.

The prince gave me nothing but happiness, he made me feel something that I haven't felt in a long time, and that's want. I felt wanted by him. I feel as though he's the man for me, and no one will make me rethink my choice.

I walked a little further beyond the trees, to a small little lake that was there for ages. I sat on a large rock that was near the edge of the lake, and looked at the calm water.

I always came here since I was small when I felt like I needed to escape the world. This was my go to happy place.

As I sat on the rock, I saw a row boat coming into view. It was a little down the lake, but who ever it was, was rowing in my direction.

"Who could that be?" I said to myself, as I furrowed my eyebrows. The man on the row boat came into full view, and I was able to see who it was.

"Prince Downey." I whispered, as I smiled to myself. He rowed closer, as he looked in my direction. He took a while before he noticed who I was. He waved at me, then brought the row boat to the edge. I helped him onto the dry land.

"Why hello Princess." Robert grabbed my hand and kissed the top of it, like he did at the ball. He wasn't in his royal attire. He wore a regular white shirt with, black pants. He still looked good since the last I've seen him.

"Hello." I smiled.

"Fancy seeing you here. How are you this fine morning?" He asked.

"I'm quite ok, as for yourself?" I responded.

"Well alot better now that I see you. I told you I was going to see you again." He smiled, as I let out a giggle.

"Indeed, you did say that." I smiled. "But what bring you down to these parts?"

"I row my boat down this lake when I want to get away from life, or if I feel as though I'm a little down on my luck that day." He said, sighing.

"Oh... that's quite my reasoning for my appearance down here."

"Well look at that, aren't we the same." We both laughed. There was a little silence before Robert spoke up.

"I have nothing better to do. Do you mind if I stay with you a while here?" He asked, looking a little nervous.

"Of course you can stay." I smiled, as I saw his nervousness disappear.

"Wonderful." He smiled back.

We sat on the grass together, and looked out onto the lake. We talked about everything and anything that came to mind. From childhood memories, to funny family tales. I was completely enjoying myself.

"So that's the end? No sequel?" He laughed at the story I just told him.

"Honest, I never found out what happened after that." I also laughed.

"Oh god." We both chuckled, then I looked up at the sky. The clouds were moving beautifully above our heads.

"Wow..." I said.

"What?" He asked, concerned.

"The clouds. They're so beautiful..." I continued to look up, as Robert tilted his head up.

"Ohh. Yes they are." We both looked up at the blue cloud filled sky. "I've seen more beauty elsewhere though." He looked at me, and I locked eyes with Robert.

"Where?"

"It's right in front of me." Robert said, as I blushed and looked down at my hands. I felt a hand on my chin, and my eyes met Robert's again.

"If anything, don't hide your blushing. I notice it everytime." He smiled, as I let out a chuckle.

"Habit." I responded, still blushing.

"My father is holding his own ball at our palace, and I would love if you could come." Robert said, placing a stray piece of hair behind my ear.

"Oh, I would love to."

"Splendid. It's two days from now, at eight o'clock."

"Look at me being the prince's plus one." I smiled.

"Oh darling, to me you are more than just a plus one..." He said, as he looked into my eyes deeply. I felt his warm breath tickle my face, as our heads were moving closer to each other.

Suddenly, his lips were on my own. Robert's hand cupped my cheek, as I laid back onto the soft grass. His body hovered over mine, as we continued to kiss.

Robert broke the kiss, slowly parting our lips from each other.

"To me, you are my love." He whispered, as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

We both suddenly sat up, as I heard my name being yelled from a distance away near the cottage.

"I must be going." I said, as we both stood up, and fixed our clothes.

"I too." Robert said, getting back into the row boat. He gave me another quick kiss. "See you in two days my darling." He said, as he rowed back to the lake.

"See you then my prince." I responded, smiling. I watched as he rowed down the lake, until I heard my name being called again. I quickly began to run back to the cottage.
