everyday, y/n would make her way down to the bodega to get her daily slushy made by her best friend, sonny. sonny always gave her the slushy for free. and after a while, she found it a bit annoying.
today, y/n walked down to the bodega with her tía (aunt), daniela. obviously, daniela already knew about sonny's feelings for y/n. it was pretty obvious.
"hello, dani. hello, y/n." sonny shouted.
the 2 girls shared some hello's.
"so any coffee, slushies?" sonny asked.
"1 slushy and 1 coffee con leche." daniela ordered.
"usnavi!" sonny called out.
the dominican with a hat came out of the back room.
"what's up?" usnavi asked.
"café con leche." daniela said.
"right right." usnavi said and proceeded to make daniela's coffee.
"okay, y/n. let me make you a special slushy." sonny said.
"for what occasion?" y/n asked.
"nothing really. so blue raspberry, red raspberry, and some nerds at the end." sonny said, starting on the cold drink.
y/n reached from her cross-body bag for some money.
"it's on the house." sonny said.
"in my opinion, it's not." y/n said.
"well i am selling you the slushy and i say it's on the house." sonny said.
"well you don't own this bodega. usnavi what do you think?" y/n asked with some sass.
"customer's always right." usnavi replied.
"so i see. keep the change." y/n said before starting to walk out.
"y/n can we talk for a few minutes?" sonny asked.
"fine," y/n groaned.
"what do you need?" she asked.
"i need help asking out the girl i like." sonny said.
this confused y/n.
and when did he tell me? y/n thought.
"okay." she said.
"will you go out with me?" he asked.
"yes. now go." she ordered.
"i just did." he said.
"i'm sorry sonny, but i don't feel the same way you do," she said. "i see you as a brother, as a partner-in-crime. but i could never see you as more than a friend. i'm truly sorry." she said and walked out of the bodega leaving sonny with his own thoughts.
