Weeks have passed that I haven't gone to Maymay's room. I mean, noon kasi, I have to go there pa every weekend to hangout with her kasi we don't get to talk at school. That's just one of the few ways we get to bond. But now, no one would even know 'cause were close already. Like pwede na kaming mag-usap sa school. Basically, we agreed to break some, well just some, of our own rules. Cool! Hayyy, those rules.

The stupid deal started because of Allen.

Flashback (Few years ago)

My parents decided for me to continue my studies in my hometown 'cause things didn't go well here. I once said, I wasn't a good student. Average at some point but that year made me even went below the line. I don't know how pero I guess my brother's death just took a toll on me. Para bang, it haunted me in ways so I had to go somewhere else.

Maymay and I didn't talk for like a solid year since we don't have any means of communication. Besides, when I was already there, I didn't wanna tell her anything about pursuing that acting career 'cause I wanted to be accomplished first. I'm just that type of person not to tell stuff if it's something not worth sharing. You know what I mean?

After I got back from my hometown where I had my acting workshops, academics and that short stupid love affair, a lot of new things swallowed me up. Coming from an awful experience na nga with a girl, tapos coming home to an unexpected closer relationship between Maymay and Allen pa.

Well, Allen was our childhood acquaintance. What Maymay told me was they became close because they were classmates the year I was out. So yeah, I was obviously jealous 'cause I thought in mind that I must be in his place. That should be me, if only I haven't left.

I became a very keen observer watching their every move. As a guy, I was sure that Allen liked Maymay. And surely, she doesn't even know a thing. He's taking everything to his advantage. I didn't want that to happen 'cause I won't have a time with her anymore. I mean, also, of course, that would be terrible. She's the person I always run to. I don't have any other friends.

One time, I followed them as they went off to one of the school building's rooftop. They didn't even invite me to come. That was Maymay and I's meeting place so I really felt replaced.

I sneaked out, hiding behind a post and seeing them laughing out loud and enjoy each other's company. At a split second, he held her hand and hugged her tight. I was shocked to see that 'cause I never even tried doing that and hugging her thinking that we knew each other ever since.

The next thing I saw? He held her face with both of his hands, which triggered me to go nearer. As soon as he drew his face next to hers, I ran out to push him away from her, which made them react weirdly.

"Bakit mo siya tinulak, Edward?! What's wrong with you?" Maymay said. Huh? I was clueless. Did she want that to happen too?

"Bro, ano bang iniisip mo? We are rehearsing for a play. Tsk." Allen said. Ugh.

"What?! I'm sorry, I thought you're gonna kiss her. Sorry." I said, then they laughed. I never felt humiliated in my life like that before.

"Tss. No, bro. I won't. You better watch the play on Saturday. You'll know." He said. I even felt more ashamed.

Ever since that, tapos you add pa my experience with that girl, I hated acting even more. Everyone's just pretending to be someone else they're not! Or maybe, they use acting to convey who they really are pero they don't want to be known with it. Allen's case, for sure. See?

But I didn't stop there. I still observed his every move. Until then, scripts aren't scripts anymore. He started holding her hand in casual cases. He hugged her in times he wanted to. Again, Maymay didn't know. That's just something different than it should be until Allen opened up to me.
