Everyone watched as Foster laid on the floor, his blood spilling out of his chest. Jace turned around towards Kara and smiled at her. Erik looked at Kara and said "You saved me" smiling at her. "Yeah.." Kara said, looking at Foster. Conrad stood behind them, looking crushed. "No" he said. "NO!" He rushed towards Kara with his sword. Jace quickly stepped in front of her and blasted him with fire. The blast knocked him out, and he lay on the ground his arms burnt. His body was twitching, and the room smelled of burnt flesh making Kara gag. "Lets get out of here" Jasper said kicking Fosters dead body. "Whats done is done".
The five people hurried out a secret exit of the castle, Erik and Jasper carrying Marc. They could hear the sounds of soldiers yelling and stomping across the ceiling above them. Sirens blared in the city above them as they ran through the underground tunnels. Kara could hear people yelling and screaming, and wondered if it was the fact that Jace was in the city that made them so scared. When they finally reached the end of the tunnel, a large black carriage was waiting for them. Jace motioned for the others to stay where they were, and he went to talk to the driver. After 5 minutes of discussing, Jace handed over a small velvet bag. He then motioned for the five to come over, and they quickly squezed themselves into the carriage. They layed Marc on the floor, his eyes still glassy. Jace leaned foward and whispered something to the carriage driver, and the carriage suddenly bolted forwards. "You killed Foster" Jasper said "Your my hero now". He smiled at her. "Yeah" Kara murmered, leaning her head against the side of the carriage. Jasper and Erik closed there eyes and tried to sleep, exhausted. Kara's eyelids eventually drooped, and she was almost asleep when someone kicked her foot. She opened her eyes and saw Jace. He just smiled at her, and she smiled back. She closed her eyes and again, falling asleep to the rhythmic bumping of the carriage.
She awoke to Jace gently waking her. "It's time to get up" he said, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "Where are we.." she said, rubbing her eyes. "Home" he said helping her out of the carriage. "That fast?" Kara asked. "Jasper may have used some magic to make it quicker. This time and last time..." Jace smirked walking towards the castle. Kara sighed and followed him. Before, she had promised herself that she would never come back here. She was back. "I'm going to clean up" Kara said. "Shouldn't you go to the infirmary for your...many cuts" Erik pointed out. Kara looked down "they're fine now" she said walking into the direction of her room.
An hour later, after Kara had showered and changed, she heard a knock on her door. She had just finished brushing her hair, and she set her brush down and went to the door. Jace was standing there. "Just coming by to see if your ok" he said smiling at her. "I'm fine" she replied. Jace took her arm and began to examine her cuts. "Some of these are really deep" he said looking into her eyes "Are you sure you don't want to go to the infirmary?" he asked. "No, they'll be fine in a few days. And i don't want Myra to freak out on you again" she said smiling. "Well then here, let me help" Jace said, taking a roll of gauze and bandaging her arms. "Thanks" Kara replied, realizing for the first time the stinging from her arms.
The two walked down to the conference room, where the rest of the boys besides Marc were waiting. The clouds had completely covered the sun, making it look light night outside. "Why is it do dark out..." Kara asked looking outside. "I was just about to ask the same thing" Erik said, walking over to the window."It's just clouds" Jace said annoyed and sat down. "Let's start the meeting". About halfway through the meeting, the storm began. Lightning and thunger crashed as rain poared down onto the ground. The winows shook with every clap of thunder and the light flickered on and off. Jasper stood up and looked around. "Somethings weird" he murmered. "What? Speak up" Jace said rolling his eyes. Erik kicked him from under the table. "Your just paranoid" Kara said, motioning for him to sit down. "I'll be right back" Jasper said, quickly excusing himself and briskley walking out the door. "Well, on with the meeting" Erik said awkwardly after a moment of silence.
About 15 minutes later, Jasper came back into the room completely soaked. Kara couldn't help but giggle when she saw him. Erik followed, and the two giggled together until Jace cleared his throat. Jasper squished back to his chair and sat down into his chair, his hair dripping onto the table. "Where did you go" Jace scoffed. "Just to check something" Jasper murmered, sitting back into his chair. "Well then......." Jace replied standing up. "Meeting aborted. I need to check on some things too" with that he walked out of the room.
Kara walked out of the room with Erik, who looked down both hallways for Jace. "Where did he go...?" Kara asked questionly. "Who knows..." Erik said looking at Kara. "This storm is weird" he added. "We usually don't get storms here. Its mostly gray skies, sunny skies, or snow. Thats it" he said as they walked towards one of the windows at the end of the hall. A bolt of lightning illuminated the hallway, casting an eerie glow over the two. Erik leaned out to look out of the window and said " It''s really coming down out there. What's going on over there.....?" he said, squinting into the darkness. "Shit Jace" he muttered. He quickly turned and sprinted down the hallway, down to the outside world.
