Kara came to about 10 seconds after the blow to her head was delivered. She could feel something warm and wet trickle down her cheek. She smelled blood, and decided to keep her eyes shut. " Lets pretend I really am knocked out" she thought to herself. " I've never seen her before" someone said as they moved Kara's face from left to right. " She's kinda weird lookin...." another person added. " Should we leave her, or take her?" the first person said. " Leave her. She wasn't running, plus we need hands for weapons, not girls" another voice spoke. The others made noises of agreement, and Kara felt herself being laid onto the floor. She heard the sound of footsteps turn into another hall, and gently fade away. As soon as she was completely alone, Kara sat up and got to her feet. There was blood on the wall from where her head had been hit, and there were dirt marks on the wood floor. The footprints were the only proof that the incident had just happened. Kara wiped the blood form her cheek, and started back the way she had come. " I have to find someone." she thought to herself " Theres something wrong here". She took off running down the hall, glancing over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't being followed.

As soon as she rounded the 3rd corner, she stopped running. No one was in sight. The hallways were completely deserted, as if everyone had snuck out hours before. Her breath caught in her throat, as she realized the possibility that she might be alone. " This is probably some Jace trick" she thought nastily, a surge of hate flowed through her body. As she came around another corner, she ran smack dab into the person she was just thinking about. Jace was sweaty, his t shirt torn in some places, and his hair was rumpled. In his hand, he carried a long gold sword. As soon as he saw Kara, and the wound on her head, his eyebrows shot up. " What happened to you?" he said as he ran his hands through his hair. " Those....people. They slammed my head against the wall. I swear Jace, if you did this I'm going to...". " God, shut up for just one minute" Jace said exsasperatly. Kara shot him a dirty look and crossed his arm. " Do you really think I'm THAT much of a bad person..?". He and Kara stared at eachother for a second, before both cracking a smile. " Ok...so here's what you need to know" Jace said, becoming seroius. " These people, are barbaric. They belonged to the same tribe that.....little person Mina belonged too. They've come to take her and her father back, and they've found out they're both dead. Now, they want revenge. So this is when we kill them. End of story" Jace said quickly, peering around Kara's shoulder to make sure they weren't being listened too. Hearing Mina's name brought tears to Kara's eyes, and she blinked a few times to send them away. The thought of the poor little girl made her heart break into a million little pieces. Not realizing Kara was upset, Jace thrust his sword towards her. " Take this, you'll need it when we run into a fight.". " What about you.." Kara started, but Jace just pointed down to his hands and winked at her.

They continued down the hallway in silence, and Jace surveyed every inch of the long corridor. The whole time Kara was thinking " I can't kill someone.. no way in hell....". Jace began to humb, like tracking murderers in his castle was something he did on an everyday basis. Kara rolled her eyes, and tried to tune him out, but the tune got way too annoying. " Can you please stop!" she whispered angirly, getting impacient. Jace's response was to whistle louder. Kara groaned. Jace snickered, causing Kara to get even more annoyed. Just as she was about to say something, Jace stopped in his tracks. Her turned around, his eyes moving back and forth at the darkness that lay behind them. " Get behind me" he muttered. " Excuse me?" Kara said. " This isn't the time for fighting, now do as I say" Jace replied his voice eerily calmed. His eyes never moved from the abyss of darkness behind them. As quick as a bolt of lightning, he raised his hands and sent a gush of fire into the darkness. It illuminated every crevice of the hallway, including the person hunched in the corner. Jace ran towards the person, who was now badly burned. The burns had contorted the legs and arms, and the person was screaming loudly. Clapping a hand over the mouth, Jace whispered something in the ear of the small person. In response, the person kicked Jace, and muttered something underneath his hand. " Give me the sword." Jace demanded, his eyes filled with hate. When Kara just stood there, he dragged the person over and took it from her. Then, without any warning, he plunged it through the small persons chest. The long sword went from one side to the other, killing the small man instantly. Kara screamed, and Jace clapped his hand over hers now. Kara continued screaming under his hand, as he grabbed the sword and pulled her away. The poor man was slumped on the floor, bloody and burned. His face was contorted wtih pain and agony, but his eyes shown bright with not defeat but triumph. Jace pulled Kara into a closet nearby, and shook her. " What the hell is wrong with you??! You stupid girl!!" he whisper yelled. " You probably gave away our location the rest of them.". " Oh yeah, and your giant ball of fire was fineeee." Kara snapped back. They both glared angirly at eachother, before Kara reached for the knob of the door. Suprisingly, Jace grabbed her hand away, and they both waited in silence. After a minute or two, they heard footsteps. The footsteps approached the door, and the knob twisted slowly. As the door swung open, Kara's breath caught in her throat. It opened to reveal a very annoyed and bloody Erik, who was extremely confused.
