Kara spent the rest of the meeting trying to fight off death glares from Jace. They said "I know your lying. And you have until the end of this meeting to tell me the truth". She shifted nervously in her seat, waiting for Jace to explode."Why won't I tell him" she thought to herself. "If it really doesn't matter, he won't be mad". She went back and forth in her mind for the rest of the meeting trying to decide if she should tell him the truth. "I hate lying to him.." she thought to herself after one particulary nasty look.

When the meeting was over, Kara waited in her seat until she and Jace were the only two in the room. "Well, I assume you interpreted those looks" he said sharply. "Yes" Kara mumbled. "Are you ready to tell the truth?" he asked, looking straight at her. "I know that it doesn't matter if I tell you or not, It's just that....some part of me is holding me back" she said. "Tell me" Jace said softly. "I promise I won't be mad. I won't scream or yell. Who". "Carson" Kara said. "His name was Carson". Jace sat in his chair, stunned. Kara watched as a mix of emotions swam across his face. Disbelief, terror, suprise, and anger.  He stood up and hurled his chair against the wall, breaking it in two. "DAMN IT KARA!!"  he yelled, infuriated. Kara shrank back and pressed her back against the wall. "Jace...I didn't...." she stuttered. Jace, who was now camling himself said "I know. I'm sorry. It wasn't your fault. It's just that....that.....he's in alliance with the person I didn't want you to meet. If he sent Carson then.....he's watching you. And thats bad. Really bad. It's the first step in a long line of tragedys." Jace sat down in his chair, his head in his arms. Kara could hear him breathing heavily. She walked over to him and sat down. "Nothing bad is going to happen" she whispered. "You don't know that" Jace said sitting up. "I've seen this before. Once it's at this stage, theres no stopping it. He's got his eyes set on you and he won't stop until he has you. Dead or alive. I need to find Erik. Come one". Jace grabbed Kara's hand and pulled her close to him. Kara buried her face in his shoulder, feeling his heartbeat against hers.

After a few minutes, Jace fast walked out of the room. Kara followed him as he yelled "Erik. I need to talk to you" his voice was filled with pain. "What?" Erik yelled from down the hallway, wheeling his chair fastly. "What happened". "Carson" Jace said, standing up tall. All signs of weakness that Kara saw were gone now. "Carson" Erik stuttered, looking at Kara. "She can't...". "I know" Jace said holding up his hand. "He came and talked to her. He was looking for me. He's gone now". Erik's eyse widened and he opened his mouth to say something, then shut it. The three stood in silence for a moment, before Kara spoke. "He wasn't going to hurt me. Jace turned to her, his eyes flashing with anger. "How do you knnow that Kara? He's evil. Everyone is normal until they commit something evil. He is evil from inside, I'm just evil from the outside"." Erik snickered and Jace said "Erik, this is no time for your girlish laughing. This his serious". His tone was serious. Erik stopped laughing. "Ok, so what do we do about it?" Kara asked, crossing her arms. "I don't know" Jace admitted. "The great Jace doesn't have a plan" Erik gasped. "Shutup" Jace said, narrowing his eyes. "Stop" Kara said, putting her hands in her head. "You guys are giving me a headache. You fight like an old couple". Jace looked amused, and Erik looked baffled. "I have never been compared to an old person before" Jace said, making a face. "Interesting". Kara hit him on the arm. "Ok. Ok" he said. "This is what we do. I want us to go to my summer home for a week or two. We stay there and throw them off. I'll think of something later". "Thats a plan" Erik said. "Summer home..?" Kara said questioningly. "Yes." Jace repeated, looking at her like she was stupid. "Do you feel the need to repeat everything I say". Kara rolled her eyes and said "Seriously, are you going to start". "Sorry" Jace said. "Go pack". He pointed in the direction of their rooms, and jogged down the hall to his room to pack.

Kara pulled out a leather suitcase and began to pile her dresses, leggings, and boots in the suitcase. She put her brush on top, and a few hair ties. "Done" she said to herself, looking at her packed suitcase. She heard a knock on her door and said "Come in" while zipping up her suitcase. Jace entered the room, carrying a large black suitcase. "Ready?" he said, heaving his suitcase into the room. "Almost" Kara said struggling to finish zipping the bad. "So we leave tomorrow?". "Actually, we leave now" Jace said smirking. "Now?" Kara said, whirling towards him. Her suitcase slipped off her bed and landed on her foot. "Damn it" she groaned as she grabbed her foot and sat down on the bed. Jace stood next to his suitcase, snickering. "It's not funny" Kara said annoyed. "It kind of is" Jace said, then he stopped laughing. "We need to go". "ERIK!!!" he bellowed out the door. "Must you yell that loud?" Kara said dragging her suitcase over to him. "Yes" Jace said, taking both their suitcases and walking our the door.

Jace managed to carry the suitcases all the way down to the carriage. Then, he went back for Erik. "Someones got to help that poor bastard" he said shaking his head. walking back into the castle. Kara climbed into the carriage and sat down. Her heart lurched as she rememberd the inside. It was from the day Jace captured her and brought her back to the castle. She closed her eyes and could picture that day perfectly. The ache in her heart from Mina, and the terror she felt as they grew closer to the castle. The velvet seats no longer felt prison-like and harsh. They felt soft and gentle, like an old friend. Kara's heart sunk as she remembered her first few nights at the castle. Being kidnapped from her home. She shuddered. Escaping the castle, getting caught. Witnessing Jace murder her friend. Kara's blood boiled in her skin. "Well, that was of course....before things changed...." she thought to herself, trying to push the hatred out of her mind. It didn't work. Kara suddenly rememberd all of the horrible things Jace had done. "Am i with a monster?" she wondered out loud, her one voice sounding small and horrified. she barely had time to think it over when the carriage door was swung open.

"I can walk!" Erik yelled as he hopped into the carriage to the seat across from Kara. Jace slid in next to him. "Look familiar?" Jace said, winking ar Kara. Kara just nodded her head and looked down, playing with one of her curls. Jace looked at Erik, a confused look on his face. "You know" he said. "I'm probably never going to get used to your mood swings" he said leaning back and crossing his legs. "Mood swings?" Kara sputtered. "I wouldn't be talking! Your all happy one moment and angry the next". "That is so true" Erik piped up. Jace frowned at them both. "Well, believe it or not, but some people think my mood swings are sexy" he said trumphantly. Erik let out a loud laugh and Jace turned towards him "How many people think your sexy?" he said nastily. "Kara" Erik said, turning to look at her. Kara blushed. "See!" Erik yelled. "She thinks so!" he kicked Kara in delight. "Kara" Jace started "Only has eyes for me. So you can take your 'sexiness' somewere else". Erik stared at him, and Jace stared back. Finally, Jace grinned and turned around shaking his head. "You are ridiclous" he said with a laugh. "Not as bad as you old friend" Erik said punching his arm. Kara looked at them both, disgusted. "What are you staring at Kara-girl" Erik said, looking straight into her eyes. "Nothing" she snorted turning away. Erik kicked her, hard. "Hey" she said, smiling and kicking him back. Soon, the whole carriage was erupted in a kicking fight. Jace ended up getting smashed against the door by Erik, and Kara was laying on the floor. "God Erik" she wheezed, trying to sit up. "I never knew you were so strong". "Me too" Jace said, eyeing him warily. "One of my many hidden talents" Erik said smiling, sitting back and relaxing. Jace climbed back into his seat, and scooched as far away from Erik as possible. Kara heaved herself up onto her seat and rubbed her shin. "Did I hurt you" Erik said  sweetly. Kara responded by kicking him.

The trip took a total of 4 1/2 hours. According to Jace, it woud've taken longer had he not put a spell on it. The whole trip consisted of four fights, and many many many stories from Jace. "Ughhh" Erik groaned after the 16th story. "I've heard this millions of times". "Kara's never heard it" Jace protested, furrowing his brows. "And I'm sure she doesn't want to" Erik responded, trying to sleep. When they finally got to Jace's summer home, all three were very tired and cranky. "Finally" Kara said, looking out of the window. A large gold castle gleamed in the distance, surrounded by a sky blue ocean. Waves crashed against the black sand beach below, and tall trees with almost palm looking leaves swayed in the sweet warm breeze. "I thought you said this was you summer HOME" Kara protested, looking out at the magnificent castle. It was almost as grand as the castle back home. "It's a castle. What did you think it would be a shack" Jace retorted, making Erik snort. They pulled up to the castle, and Kara saw that it gleamed more up close then it did from far away. There were intricatly carved patterns in the wall, telling stories of Jace's ancestors. The whole castle took her breath away. Jace swung open the door and collapsedo on the ground "Oh my god. Finally" he groaned. Erik responded by stepping on his back when he got off the carriage.

"This place is amazing" Kara said as she surveyed the bright blue silk carpets, and the gold architecture around her. "It's alright" Erik said. "The gold gives you a headache after a while" Jace pointed out, rubbing his head. "We can just relax here" Erik breathed falling onto a window seat. "No issues here". "Don't jinx it" Kara said. " Relax Kara" Jace said. "We're safe here". Kara rolled her eyes. "You just jinxed it"
