"I've been looking for hours" Erik snapped, draggind them out of the closet. " Theres only one left, and he seems to be the leader" he added. He then looked at Kara and said " what happened to you?". " Long story." Jace said, irritated. " We can take him out easily. Where is he?". Erik looked down the hall and said " North hallway". Kara just stood there, as the two boys began to bicker about the battle plan. " Fine fine" Erik said, agreeing to whatever Jace was saying. Jace shot Kara a triumphant smile. " Your coming with us, I hope you know" Erik said to Kara. " I know." she said sighing, as she followed them down the hall.
The north hallway was covered with stain glass windows. Each window held a portriate of one of Jace's family members, all dressed in robes of gold and red. They shown brightly in the moonlight, and seemed to be gazing down at the three people below. They found the last man at the end of the hall". He seemed to be trying to open the window, as an excape plan. When he saw Erik and Jace, he flipped out. He desperatly tried to open the window again, with no luck. He turned to face them again, this time they were closer. " Please don't..." the man started, but Erik had already finished his sentence for him, by plunging a dagger deep into his heart. " That was too easy" Jace whined, as the man slumped to the floor. He and Erik started talking and laughing, sharing stories Kara knew nothing about. She caught sight of a figure darting towards her throug the shadows, and whipped her head to the side. Someone caught her, and dragged her into the shaddows with them. A long curved blade was held to her neck, as the person wrapped their arm around her waist, securing their hold.
" Who are you" said the voice, belonging to a male about 16. " Kara" Kara whispered, not showing fear. " How long have you been here, are you with them". " 3 days, Kara responded. " And i don't really know, Erik kidnapped me.." she whispered, fear growing in the pit of her stomach. The figure behind her made a sound of approval, before loostening their grip on her but not letting go completely. Jace and Erik had now noticed she was gone. " Kara" Erik called worridly into the shadows, his turqouise blue eyes filled with worry. " Oh she probably ran off somewere. She doesn't like dead people" Jace added. Kara wanted to punch him. The figure started to back away, and Kara struggled getting scared. The blade dug father into her kneck, as the stranger whispered " I will kil l you, I hope you know". Kara stopped struggling. Jace turned towards the shadows where she was, sensing movement. He stared directly towards where she was, before walking towards her and saying " Nice to see you again Conrad."
The figure holding her stepped into the moonlight hallway, his blade still pushing against Kara's throat. Jace locked eyes with Kara, and for a second, she could have sworn she saw a flash of terror in his bright blue eyes. " Preying on the innocent, Conrad" Erik said crossing his arms. " Just like you". " I wouldnt be talking to me about preying on the innocent Erik." Conrad said. " Whole villages of elves slaughtered, and what for? No one knows. No one except you and your highness over there.". Jace moved forward with his sword, and Conrad moved back. The blade dug deeper into Kara's throat, making it harder for her to breathe. " I will kill her" he said. " She is nothing to me. But it seems she means something to you too" he said. Kara could practically feel his mouth curling up into a smile. Erik turned to look at Jace. " Alright, so what ar your demands" Jace said, wihtout turning to Erik, who seemed baffled. " I want my land and my people back" Conrad said, releasing his grip on Kara. " Done" Jace said, motioning for Conrad to release Kara. Conrad did, warily. Thats when everything happened. Erik threw a knife, Jace sent fire, and Kara turned around. She felt the fiery pain of his dagger before she saw it, as it entered into her stomach. The burn was unberable, and she fell to the ground. The shapes of the three boys were blurred now, and all Kara could see where flashes of fire and faint voices, as she lay dying in a pool of her own blood.
