Kara breathed a sigh of relief as they re-entered the castle, and when Jace locked the doors to the gardne. "I'm guessing I'm not the only one who felt that" Jace said quietly, looking at Erik. Erik looked at Kara, and Kara looked at Jace. "Now, before you ask what that was" Jace said to Kara "I want you to know that I am not going to tell you". With that, he grabbed Erik's wheelchair and began to wheel him down the hallway. "Wait, turn me around" Erik said annoyed. "We have to go" Jace said stirnly. "Where?" Erik said. "The council meeting doesn't start until 2". "We have.......training" Jace said, kicking the back of Erik's chair. Erik didn't get it. "What training?" he asked, irritated. "Oh my god" Jace groaned, and turned the wheelchair around. "You obviously don't know how to make an exit". Erik crossed his arms and gave Jace a death glare. Kara arched her eyebrows. "Seriously Jace" she said, walking towards him. "Just tell me. I'm not going to be in danger or anything, I can take care of myself". Erik looked up at Jace and said "Jace, you should". Jace only shook his head and said "I can't and I won't". Kara stomped her foot and whirled around, running right into Jasper. "Woahh" he said grabbing Kara by the waist right as she was about to fall. Kara stood straight up and pushed past him, stomping angirly to her room. "Stomping isn't going to get you anywere" Jace called after her, but she didn't turn around. "Oh Kara" Jasper sighed as he watched her turn the corner. "There is so much you don't know".
"Can I help you....?" Kara said to the tall handsome stranger at the end of the hallway. "I'm just looking around" the stranger drawled. "Have you by chance, seen Jace" he said, his hazel eyes twinkling. "No." Kara lied. There was something strange about this boy. "Let me introduce myself" the tall stranger said bowing to Kara. "My name is Carson. It is a pleasure to meet you my lady". " I'm not 'my lady' my name is Kara" Kara said, still annoyed from Jace. The stranger stood back up, his light brown hair dusting the front of his eyes. He swished it out of his eyes and said "Kara. I've been wanting to meet you for some time" with a smile. "I'm an old friend of Jace's" he smiled. "Oh, from where?" Kara asked questioningly. "We've known eachother for some time" Carson said, tapping his foot against the ground."Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go find a servent". He gave Kara one last odd look and turned around, disappearing around the corner. Kara stood there. "What just happened...." she thought to herself. She hadn't realized how long she had been standing there when Ashe rounded the corner and gave her a weird look. "What are you doing..?" he said cautiously, giving her a weird look. "Nothing, just thinking" she said rubbing her foarhead. "Are you sure your ok?" Ashe asked touching her arm."I'm fine" Kara repeated, coming to her senses. "Well, theres a council meeting....so let's go" he said looking concerned.
When they entered the room, it seemed like Jace had someone go looking for Kara. "There you are" he said "I thought you ran away or somthing". "Nope" Kara said, sitting down in her chair. Jasper stood up and began to give his speech, and about halfway through Jace whispered to Kara "I'm sorry about how I acted earlier. I will tell you, just not now.". "It's fine, don't worry about it" Kara said, squeezing his hand. He smiled and leaned back in his chair to listen to Jasper. Kara looked out of the window, and a breeze trickled through. It was icy cold, and sent chills running down Kara's spine. Jace must've felt it too, because he sat up in his chair, and cast an icy stare at everyone at the table. "Jace are you ok...?" Marc asked looking weirded out. "No. I don't believe I am". He stood up and threw his chair back, and raced from the room.
The whole table sat in shock, until Kara got up and went after him. She opened the door, and ran to Jace's side."Jace, what's wrong" she asked, struggling to keep up with his long strides. "He's here" Jace growled, his fists clenched. "Who!" Kara yelled. "Who who who who who!!!". Jace shot Kara a pained look. " Go back to the conference room Kara" he said tiredly. "No. I'm staying with you" Kara said. "Fine" Jace said taking her hand. "Whatever you say". "Who exactly are we looking for" Kara asked. "A boy" Jace said sharply. Kara rolled her eyes and said "I know that. What's his name?". It's a horrible name that I never want you to speak" Jace said. "Is he really that bad?" Kara whispered. "He's almost as bad as me" Jace whispered back, winking. They reached the end of the hall and Jace walked over to the wall. He kicked it 3 times. "Jace...." Kara said. "Shhhh" Jace said. Nothing happened. "Ok. we're good" he said. "What did that do" Kara said flatly. "I can't tell" Jace said, walking back to the council room. Kara heard someone laugh behind her, and turned around slowly. She was greeted with the shadows creeping up from the corners, illuminated by the afternoon sun.
"Come on" Jace said turning back to look at Kara. His black hair swooped in front of his eyes framing his handsome face. His turquois eyes were bright and framed with long black lashes. They looked at Kara with kindness and love, and Kara thought she might melt into the floor. "What are you staring at?" Jace said slyly, knowing the answer. "Nothing" Kara choked, embarassed he had caught her staring. "Well come on then" he said, motioning wildly and raising his eyebrows. "We don't have all year, stop acting like Erik". Kara slowly walked towards him and he turned around and went back to the conference room. "Jace....do you know anyone named..." her voice trailed off as she rethought her question. "Do I know anyone named what?" Jace said, snapping his face towards her so he was inches from her face. "Nothing..." Kara said, mentally hitting herself for asking the question. "Kara" Jace said, crossing his arms. "Do you have something to tell me" he looked grave this time, not joking around like usual. "No" Kara gulped, and scurried back into the council room." Kara tell me" he grabbed her arm, in front of everyone, and looked her straight in the eye. "Jace.....it didn't matter" she said embarassed, shaking his arm off. "Kara you don't understand" he pleaded, his eyes scared. "What name were you going to say". "Daniel" Kara blurted, lying. Jace breathed a sigh of relief and said "Yes I do know someone named Daniel. Why?". "He...stopped by today and asked where you where" Kara said. Another lie. "And what exactly did you tell him" Kara said. "I told him I didn't know where you were.." Kara said, hurrying back to her chair and sitting down. Jace slowly walked back to his chair, eyeing Kara. "I believe you" he said finally. His lips said one thing, but his eyes told a completely different story.
